One reason I found this game (DoDonPachi) fun was that it was much easier to play than I expected, and it actually lets you progress relatively far into the later stages. That said, it certainly looks difficult at first glance. This is true of bullet-hell shooters in general, though… I think your opinion of the game will depend on whether or not you can see past that initial impression.
