Ao3 already told us they don’t own any of the work posted on their archive so they have no obligation to protect you should you face legal trouble from having your fics monetized without your consent What “legal fund” are you ppl donating to ??

back in 2020 some developers grabbed a bunch of fics from ao3 to make a ‘pocket library’, they then proceeded to run ads and implement a subscription service. The ao3 legal team quite literally advised fic authors to do just that fanlore.org/wiki/AO3_App_War…

I don’t care for ao3 but as op said the website was made to supposedly protect fic authors from legal persecution, but the catch is so long as the fics are hosted on their website. it’s not like that doc owner made the same promise
