Bank consolidation is the preferred chosen path from here to meet three objectives:
1. Limit number of public players to few focused PSBs with scale
2. Use scale to meet affordability of both govt strategic programs and last mile welfare delivery
3. Reduce share of PSB balance sheet within all SCBs from 55% to 30-35%; not by reduction in business but by encouraging more new players after priorities are set well for PSBs
