[watching a random Tales From The Crypt episode] Hell yeah. Big budget anthologies rock. The Crypt Keeper is my little buddy. [watching several Tales From The Crypt episodes in a row] This is the definitive psychosocial atlas of the American baby boomer's collective unconscious.

very cathartic to see this all crumble down in real time after years of harassing artists and threatening to replace them. Could never be more deserved.
🚨 US LAWMAKERS ARE NOW PREPARING FOR THE AI BUBBLE TO BURST. House Democrats have introduced a resolution opposing government bailouts for AI companies if the industry crashes. Instead of rescuing them with taxpayer money, lawmakers want failed AI companies to go through normal bankruptcy. And the timing is extremely concerning. Some of the world's biggest tech companies are investing billions into AI startups that spend heavily on their products. • Nvidia invests in CoreWeave, which buys Nvidia chips. • Microsoft invests in OpenAI, which spends billions on Microsoft's cloud services. • Amazon invests in Anthropic, which uses Amazon's cloud infrastructure. Billions are moving between companies that are becoming increasingly dependent on each other's spending. And lawmakers are raising concerns about the growing use of borrowed money by Big Tech and Wall Street to finance the AI boom. The resolution is not law, but it shows that some lawmakers are already worried about what happens if the industry collapses. If AI startups run out of funding, they could be forced to slash spending or declare bankruptcy, leaving their investors and suppliers facing massive losses. And without government bailouts, a major failure could spread across chipmakers, cloud providers, banks and the broader stock market. The biggest risk is that one major AI bankruptcy could trigger losses across an entire industry worth trillions.

Zohran has now canceled the NYC cop city.
The NYPD and Eric Adams want a $225 million cop city. And NYC has started to resist.

The Devils is still a very important film today for many reasons but one of the simplest being that the government will use some culture war bullshit to manufacture hysteria and distract you as a means to an end

NEW: On Friday, dockworkers at 111 ports in 22 countries and regions on five continents will stop work in a coordinated strike against war, according to the most recent information from the organizing unions. More than 25 dockworkers’ unions have now signed on, from Marseille to Mumbai, Hamburg to Montevideo, Melbourne to Oakland. Days ago the count stood at about 100 ports in 17 countries, and that figure doesn’t include the dozens of unions in other sectors that have pledged support. Their demand is simple: no weapons and no military cargo through their ports. Nearly everything the world ships passes through the docks, and without the workers who load and unload it, nothing moves. In France, the main dockers’ union says the country’s ports will be 95% shut. Italy, India, Greece and Turkey face 24-hour strikes, and Morocco and Cyprus will see stoppages of up to two hours, with rallies planned in port cities around the world. In Greece, metalworkers, ship-repair workers and young people are joining the dockers, and in the US, ILWU Local 10 is striking in Oakland and San Francisco. The unions are working from the Istanbul Declaration, signed in May, with each one deciding for itself how to take part. They are also fighting for their own jobs, against cuts from automation and for contracts, raises, shorter hours and safety. The unions point to escalating wars in Ukraine and the Middle East and the danger of a generalized war. They condemn Israel’s new crimes in Hebron, carried out with the backing of the US, NATO and the EU. Israel’s lockdown of the city is now in its sixth day, with more than 3,000 Palestinians displaced, according to the UN. Palestinian unions have endorsed Friday’s action. In Italy, the fight has spilled beyond the docks. The union USB has called for a nationwide general strike. Last night, the Italian government ordered transport workers back on the job last night. USB said it would defy the order and accept the steep penalties. The unions are calling on workers and young people everywhere to stand with the dockworkers, saying “Ports for peace and the peoples, not launching pads for war.” I’m reporting from Calabria, Italy, and I will be in Genoa tomorrow ahead of the strike to report on the ground during the mobilzation.

Does anyone have the article from ~2010 where Dyrdek was talking about the creation of Street League, and how skateboarding would eventually move to a model where there was only a handful of top level pros that made a lot of money and everyone else was just kinda there?
