i appreciate the sentiment whenever people share this with me, but i wish they'd give themselves more credit 😎(😭) i have experience with making the choice to turn away from misery and cynicism, and it took a lot of effort on my part. i like to think it's the same for others

every now and then!! as is standard for any creative in the history of humanity my approach is to just stop being creative in that way for a little bit. if i can't draw, then maybe it's a sign i should write. if i can't write, then maybe i should sing. etc.!! as for self-criticism, it helps me to remember why i started doing whatever i'm feeling insecure about: for fun if i'm not enjoying it, there's no point!! and negatively deconstructing it only makes it miserable being an amateur is awesome and i think we should care a little less about becoming excellent as quickly as possible. excellence comes naturally and gradually as a result of long-term effort/enjoyment

i prefer not to think this way!! it makes an actual difference to consider what i should do differently Now, then put it into practice immediately 😎👍

sometimes the best thing to do is see something annoying on social media and 💥ignore 💥 it acknowledging negativity directly only gives it more power and attention. i'd honestly love for both creators and listeners to put this idea into practice more 🥸

when i lay down for bed at the end of the day, that is in itself a success
