i think a better framed question to follow is: will there be transparency around the chosen premises (morals, invariants, etc.)? Accountability? What can be done to decentralize this power & protect the individual?

no, we wont we will likely trust the deductions (reasoning), but the subjectivity lives in the premises (context). this is why a chess game (objective, discrete premises) is very different from the real world.

I am withholding comments until we’re cleared to share more. we discovered the (confirmed) exploit path in about one hour + disclosed a report + recommended fixes yesterday to blockstream. @AlpenLabs has internal multi-agent harnesses built to continuously defend bitcoin & alpen live networks 24/7.

agree with takeaways here except #1 preventing this bug wouldn’t have required verifying the entire database, filesystem, etc. stack. Not helpful to frame as all-or-nothing undertaking, since getting even component guarantees with bounded targets would add a lot of value
