Since 2000 the number of US High School seniors that said they “didn’t drive at all during an average week” doubled from 15% to 30%. HT @ryanburge

This map shows the share of the population that drinks alcohol at least once per week across Europe. Dear residents of Poland, please help me to understand your super low share of regular drinkers. What's going on? Are you all living as clean and healthy as Robert Lewandowski?

I consider the downfall of dating apps as a gift to mankind. Young folks get to meet again the way that god intended: drunk in a bar!
Ran possibly my most brutal dating app experiment yet: Normal 5’9 guy vs. an extremely unattractive woman. Results were here all tracked… Guy: 12 likes, 3 matches, 0 date offers. Woman: 1,206 likes, 342 matches, 28 date offers. 100x more likes. 114x more matches. I knew it would be bad. I did not think it would be THIS bad. It’s cooked
Readers added context they thought people might want to know
These dating experiment results were posted by an account identified in a Daily Mail investigation as fabricating dating interactions and experiments. A former friend stated all such content is made-up. dailymail.com/lifestyle/arti…

Essentially due to the decision of one man. Pretty wild. It’s the stuff I read in history books and think that’s too wild to be true…
Diesel prices have jumped 65% since the Iran War began — to $6.28 a gallon. That's hitting farmers, truckers, and industry hard in several states that will decide control of the Senate.

This feels 100% correct. There are plenty of gorgeous orange cities on the map but you need to earn well above the median wage to have a financially stable existence there. HT @thealepalombo

Historic: Solar alone has become China’s #1 power source by capacity: 1,286 GW vs coal’s 1,285 GW Coal led by 300 GW at end-2024. Solar erased that deficit in 19 months, even as China kept building coal Nameplate is captured. Displacing coal's actual TWh is next: unstoppable

This map shows popular hangover cures across Europe. In Germany I was brought up with the concept of the repair beer (Konterhalbe) as well. The Spanish are clearly the wisest drunks in Europe: Churros are fatty and delicious. HT @terriblemaps

They broke Eisenhower’s globe because they didn’t want to wait for a team of specialist historians to move it. I cannot think of a more apt metaphor for Pete Hegseth’s DoD.
EXCLUSIVE: Pete Hegseth wanted Gen. Dwight Eisenhower’s globe for his office. His staff broke it. We have photos.

Pete Hegseth reportedly wanted Dwight Eisenhower's globe in his office, but did not want to wait for historians to move it and went rogue. Hegseth's staff then attempted to move it themselves and broke the historic globe.

Whoa. The U.S. added 90% fewer jobs in 2025 than originally reported. That’s not a rounding error. That’s a massive difference between the economy Americans were told we had and the one we actually had.
When first reported, 2025’s jobs reports added up to 1.2 million new jobs. After revisions, the economy added just 116,000 — 90% less.

On this map @joshuabarzon predicts what happens once the US government collapses. We see the country split into various little empires each ruled by a fast food chain. Not an unlikely scenario I must say…

Every generation thinks it has it tough financially. And every generation has a point. Silent Generation: Paying for the increasingly expensive privilege of growing very old. Baby Boomers: Turning enormous accumulated wealth into reliable retirement income. Gen X: Supporting children, ageing parents and their own retirement savings. Burning the candle from three ends! Millennials: Mortgages, childcare and career building. Everything is expensive at precisely the same time. Gen Z: Trying to get onto the property ladder while AI threatens traditional entry-level career paths. Gen Alpha: Growing up in a world where parental wealth increasingly determines future opportunities. The demographic lens helps explain why these financial pressures are so predictable. Which generation do you think faces the toughest decade ahead? Read the full piece in @TheNewDailyAu for free: thenewdaily.com.au/opinion/2…
