The AI bot on @RingGo_parking just told me the parking prices differ between the app and website due to their tech limitations. At least it’s honest! 🤦♂️

From April 2027, money left in a pension will count towards Inheritance Tax. 📄
I have real concerns about not just what is being taxed, but who has to do the work:
Executors, usually a son, daughter or old friend, will have to find every pension, get a value for each one, work out the tax and pay HMRC. All for assets they don't control, and often within six months.
The pensions dashboard meant to help people find lost pots isn't expected until 2027-28. 💻 Final guidance isn't due until spring 2027.
People who've worked, saved and followed the rules deserve better than a tax return at the graveside. 🪦
The Chancellor has his 🎃 Halloween Budget in October. I've set out the questions he needs to answer when it comes to this "new tax"!

Stat of the day from @Quilter A single person needs a £691,000 pension pot for a comfortable lifestyle in retirement. Anyone happy to live modestly requires
£413,000. The message of this? Make use of the pension tax reliefs before the government seeks to remove more of them💷
Great piece by @mattiebrignal using @Quilter data on the £100k tax trap. HMT’s response feels like: others need help more. That doesn't make a 60% marginal rate fair. The twist is that more people earning over £75k vote Labour than any other party.

.@lisanandy is wrong on @TimesRadio. The numerous budget rumours do have real world consequences for people as they take knee jerk and sometimes irreversible action with their finances when they shouldn’t.
