ALT alterspring screenshot slickfester’s q: Hello beautiful mods, I have a question to which the answer is probably that I'm overthinking things, but as I'm writing I'm realizing that while I have hit all of the points in the prompt, it might not be in the way the prompter wanted/expected. Would it be best for me to rewrite some of it, or is it one of those things where once the prompt is claimed interpretation is in the writer's hands? Thanks! slickfest’s answer: hihi!! without knowing the prompt and the changes we unfortunately cannot give you a definitive answer as to whether or not you need to change some elements of your fic! however, we can tell you that, as a rule of thumb, as long as you've fulfilled the prompt in its entirety, you're free to write the story that you envisioned and add whatever you see fit! if you're unsure, you can always dm us so that we can best help you with the details ^^

ALT alterspring screenshot slickfester’s q: hiiii, i have a quick question: what time on the 1st is the deadline to submit our fics?? and most importantly, which timezone? 😭 i'd need the entire weekend to finish editing, and i fear i get blacklisted and won't be able to submit my fic at all if i'm like a couple of hours late slickfest’s answer: hihi!! all of our deadlines follow KST, so submissions will close on november 1st, at 00:00 KST!!! ^^

ALT alterspring screenshot slickfester’s question: Hi! If our originally requested extension date isn't going to work out, are we able to submit a new form with a revised date? Thanks for the hard work 💗 slickfest’s answer: hihi!! yes you can submit another form! just make sure you let us know in the notes that this is a second request ^^

ALT alterspring screenshot. slickfester’s q: hi hi mods! so if we have an extension but for whatever reason we can’t finish writing in time do we submit the drop form and then have to reclaim in the off season? slickfest’s answer: hihi!! yes, unfortunately if you can’t submit your fic by the hard deadline you will have to drop out!! but as you’ve said there’s always off season if you’d like (just remember that off season doesn’t have a claiming process, so if it’s not submitted by the deadline, anyone can also write for the same prompt if they want to!)

ALT screenshot of alterspring. slickfester question: How does guessing work? slickfest answer: hello! author guessing is done through weekly google forms with quiz settings! more instructions will be available when reveals start. thank you!

ALT screenshot of alterspring. slickfester question: Hi mods! Happy slicktober! Will we receive a confirmation that our extension request was approved? Thanks so much! :) slickfest answer: hi, yes, we are sending emails to confirm extension dates! please give up to 24 hours to receive your confirmation email. if you still haven’t received it after that time, you can send a dm/email to follow up. thank you!

ALT screenshot of alterspring. slickfester question: I only know about slickfest until now and it's past the check in already :(((( Can I still claim a prompt and start writing now? slickfest answer: hi! yes, the claim form is open until October 25th, 00:00 KST. please keep in mind the deadline is November 1st, 00:00 KST. if you are able to complete your submission by then, you are more than welcome to claim a prompt! if you don’t think this is enough time, we would encourage you to consider off-season and/or waiting to claim during round 4!

ALT screenshot of alterspring. slickfester question: I just saw the mention of penalties with extensions, will there be any, and if so what? slickfest answer: hi! there are no penalties for extensions. however, please remember that “ghosting” (failing to submit your prompt without prior communication with the team or a formal drop out) may result in you being barred from participating in future rounds.

ALT screenshot from alterspring. slickfester question: hi if we request an extension but end up finishing and submitting the fic before the original deadline there won't be any issue right? basically i'm just requesting an extension just in case i can't finish it in time hope that's okay! slickfest answer: hi! yes, that’s fine! you can submit your fic whenever it’s done, as long as it’s in by (at or before) your deadline ^^
