Anglesey last week with family and a wander around the copper trails, what a geological experience and crazy landscape ! Great views of Ynys Môn !!

Up early and high in the Elan valley before the crowds arrived. After a little wait I was rewarded with great views of a couple of Ring Ouzels feasting on the Rowan berries, still quite wary and ready to retreat to the rocks !

A few nights on Anglesey with family and trip to Malltraeth was in order to pay homage to Charles Tunnicliffe. A view from the cob over the estuary to where Shorelands once stood.

Touch of colour this dull wet morning along the banks of the Afon Irfon here in mid Wales. Plenty of water now coming down after storm Austen and Boelo !🏴󠁧󠁢󠁷󠁬󠁳󠁿

Looking NW from the moorland of Rhulen hill over the Edw valley. Still very dry up here and the vegetation has suffered, but luckily missed the wild fires that were nearby.

Celebrating our heritage in style with the Freddie March Spirit of Aviation! These Spitfires put on a breathtaking display as they flew dawn patrol every morning at the #GoodwoodRevival, marking 90 years since the famous fighter planes' first flight. The Motor Circuit, formerly RAF Westhampnett, also recognised 80 years of De Havilland Chipmunk and 55 years since the first display of Spitfire MH434 at Goodwood!

Some of at least nine Clouded Yellow butterflies today around Llangorse lake on a sunny, breezy afternoon.

Thought I’d dipped out on the Clouded Yellows this year, but a walk round Llangorse lake today produced at least nine. Really tricky to catch up with the fast little blighters in the breezy, but sunny conditions.😎🏴󠁧󠁢󠁷󠁬󠁳󠁿

Didn’t expect to see a second for the garden, Hummingbird hawk moth this morning on a dull windy morning making the most of the last remaining flowers.👌🏴󠁧󠁢󠁷󠁬󠁳󠁿

Great to see the Goosanders back in the river fishing, now there’s some more water after the rain ! Last week you could walk across there without getting your feet wet. The Dippers were also making the most of the fresh water.

Coming home from Newtown yesterday evening, could see more smoke coming from the high moorland near home. This morning the smell of smoke still in the air and it looks like it’s still going !!

A walk over the moors to a remote upland lake, Pant y Llyn at 1400ft above sea level, again suffering from lack of rainfall. Not much sign of life in water !☹️

Some effects of the drought here in mid Wales. Water breaks-it’s-neck waterfall with no water and no stream, and a dry as dust moorland !! Hawthorn berries dried up, dead bushes and bilberry bushes brown instead of lush green and no berries !!!😩

This was the final display flight last weekend of the main Swift colony in Builth. A few hung on last week but I think all have gone now, till next year.
