This is the kind of feedback you’ll get if you overdeliver. Even more now when we can deliver really good artifacts based on our designs. They'll help our clients a lot with the brand implementation.

I noticed that I often go beyond what I should do when designing for clients, guess it's a disadvantage when viewed as a business, loving the game too much

Facebook / Meta has one of the worst customer services. Got my account banned a while ago, and I don’t even know why. Tried creating a new account and appealing the ban / contacting support, because Facebook is quite useful in Southeast Asia. Got banned instantly again, and was never able to recover my account. Not trying anymore. I’ll just stick to X and LinkedIn lol

My first client paid $499. My latest one paid €1,899 = $2150. Less than 2 months apart. What changed: - I improved my process. - I got more confident. - I got proof that I could do the work. There’s no shame in starting with low prices if you have a strategy behind it.

past, present, future. always nice to reflect on where you’re coming from and where you’re heading.

I received a lot of DMs from designers about how to grow on X or get your first clients. In my case, I kept doing concepts or redesigning existing logos for 2/3 weeks, tagging the founders and posting about it in a nice way. I also started with low prices, so it helped.

All 5 of my clients from the last 2 months came from my posts. The latest one had been following my work on X for a while before sending a DM. No pitch from me, no cold email. Most days, posting feels like talking only to designers and not your ICP. Then someone writes DM you ready to work with you. Keep posting.

I’m working on 2 projects right now. Both are under NDA. I can't show a single pixel. One project I’ll be able to share later. Another I’ll probably never share. This is happening quite a lot with my clients. Is that something you expect for most of your clients?

I take max 1 or 2 clients at a time. I'm still early in this, and I'd rather do one project really well than three halfway. More clients would mean more money. It would also mean slower replies, rushed creative direction and strategy. Less time drawing and less time thinking. I don’t want that.

What you can do on an iPad nowadays is insane, feels like something you could only get on a computer

This redesign was the reason a client picked me
For designers struggling to get clients. Do a daily redesign series like I did. That's how I got my first 2 clients, 1 came because of a redesign I made, the other because I was actively showing work daily. I did it for 2 weeks at it helped a lot. I might do it again ;)
