idc who gets mad at this but reducing polin to just ‘friends to lovers’ is an oversimplification of their dynamic & implies you haven’t paid attention to neither colin nor penelope individually. some polins themselves don’t get the ship beyond the trope it partially falls into. +

i’m using polin as an example but all bton subfandoms simplify their ships one way or another (to the point they lose touch w canon). fitting ships into certain tropes is fun, but if not done w care & the ship’s conflicts are continuously overlooked, it CAN cheapen the dynamic. +

8. Masali Baduza
After first appearing as Michaela Stirling at the end of Bridgerton’s third season, Masali Baduza was given considerably more room to shine in season four, bringing an infectious warmth and confidence to the character while hinting at a much more vulnerable side underneath. She will take center stage alongside Hannah Dodd as one of the leads of season five, which has just recently wrapped production, making Baduza one of the names we expect to hear a lot more about very soon.
