Imagine winning the Ballon dโOr without winning the Champions League, and people expect everyone to treat it like the ultimate achievement in football.
Iโm sorry, but this award has lost some of its prestige.
You canโt spend an entire season telling us how important trophies are, only to suddenly make them irrelevant when itโs time to choose a winner.
Individual brilliance matters, absolutely. But football isnโt played in isolation.
At what point did the Ballon dโOr become more about the story surrounding a player than what he actually achieved?

The worst Ballon dโOr ceremonies weโve ever witnessed. No substance, no real excitement.

Football is actually EVIL. ๐ญ๐
Imagine spending an entire season believing this could finally be your moment. You give everything on the pitch, dream about lifting that trophy, and picture how it would feel to be crowned the best player in the world.
Then the moment comes, your name isnโt called, and you have to sit there watching someone else live the dream you desperately wanted.
The worst part? Millions of people are watching your reaction.
Look at Mbappรฉ and Lamine Yamal when Harry Kane was announced as the 2026 Ballon dโOr winner.
Mbappรฉ applauded and managed to put on a smile, while Yamal looked visibly disappointed. But imagine what was going through their minds at that moment.
You can smile for the cameras, clap for the winner and congratulate him, but that doesnโt mean youโre not hurting inside.
Especially when you genuinely believed you had done enough to win it.
Thatโs what makes football so cruel. One person gets the moment theyโve dreamed of, while others have to sit there, hide their disappointment and act like everything is fine.
And the world expects you to be happy for the winner, even when your own heart is breaking.
Football isnโt just about what happens on the pitch. Sometimes, itโs about learning how to lose something youโve worked your entire life to achieve, in front of the whole world.
THATโS COLD. ๐ญ๐

One thing I respect about Harry Kane is that he didnโt forget where it all started. ๐ฅน๐
Standing on that stage as the 2026 Ballon dโOr winner, he took a moment to acknowledge Tottenham Hotspur and appreciate the role they played in his journey.
Thatโs class.
Footballers move clubs, win trophies, break records and reach incredible heights, but remembering the people and the clubs that helped shape your career says a lot about you as a person.
Tottenham gave Kane the platform to grow, develop and become the world-class striker we know today. Even though he has moved on and achieved incredible things elsewhere, he still recognises the role Spurs played in his story.
You can leave a club without erasing what it did for you.
Kudos to Harry Kane. A well-deserved Ballon dโOr, and a beautiful reminder that no matter how far you go in life, never forget where you started. ๐โค๏ธ
Removing the inhibitor is framed as Peter finally accepting both sides of himself, which is thematically neat. The problem is the movie also shows him building a universal version of the same device and using it on Jean Grey. Once you introduce tech that can suppress almost any enhanced person, the personal โIโm embracing who I amโ moment sits next to a tool that could be used to force other people not to embrace who they are. The film doesnโt spend much time on that tension, so the awakening scene ends up feeling cleaner and more triumphant than the larger implication deserves
