CAGR of Nifty 50 and 500 has fallen to single digits over the last 5 years As of the latest NSE factsheet (30 September 2026), the Nifty 50 TRI 5-year CAGR is 6.38%. Historically, the next 3 years have averaged about 15–18% CAGR after the Nifty’s trailing 5-year return fell into single digits. But in one episode, 1998–2000, the next 3 years were negative. 2000 onwards (Nifty 50 TRI, month-end data): There were 57 months when the trailing 5-year CAGR was below 10%. The next 3-year CAGR averaged 18.3% (median 17.0%) and ranged from 8.3% to 41.6%. It was never negative. Across all months, the median next-3-year CAGR was 12.5%, so a single-digit trailing return added about 4–5 points.

Sometime back we published an article on the anatomy of a multibagger. We shared this picture over there Mapping Acutaas on this. It seems that the business has entered Revenue growth trajectory and Exponential value creation phase in this transformation period. Today, H1FY27 PAT is greater than the entire profits of FY25. Which signals how fast the business has been growing. Lets do a deep dive in the latest concall to find out about the guidance upgrades, battery chemicals, semiconductor etc Link - soic.substack.com/p/acutaas-… Disclaimer - not a recommendation to buy/sell

"Macpower CNC is refunding 10-20 machine orders every month not because demand dried up but rather supply and capacity constrains . " -> Order book ₹476 Cr, up 36%, plus ₹939 Cr of bids in the pipeline -> FY27 growth guidance raised to ~35% from 30% -> Running at ~95% utilisation on 2,500 machines a year - Q2FY27 Concall . India consumes ₹38,000-40,000 Cr of CNC machines a year but produces only ₹16,000 Cr. More than half still comes from outside. Auto is the fastest-growing end market, with die & mould, medical, agri and defence (HAL, ordnance factories) all adding. Even 5-axis, 90% imported, is cracked in R&D and debuts at IMTEX in Jan 2027. Few common things: 1. Started with reasonable guidance, and kept upgrading as results came. 2. Climbed up the value chain by changing the product mix. 3. Unique businesses or a moat attached to them. 4. Margins kept going higher, and cos grew faster than the industry growth rates. These are just examples- one can use the mental model of product mix change to find multiple other opportunities
