It’s extra special when you get to record in person, but even more so when you’re in an artist’s studio, surrounded by the smell of canvases and paint. While this is Oscar’s studio, he says he mostly just stays there and doesn’t manage to make it back to his house much because, well, art is life and life is art kinda thing. It’s a long chat, but so well worth listening to, as you really get a sense of Oscar’s personality as well as an understanding of his work.

Anyone who has been collecting digital art should 💯 read this interview by Peter Bauman with Caroline Csuri. It takes us back to where this ‘movement’ began. It’s quite extraordinary to think about Csuri’s journey, from his humble beginnings in a Hungarian immigrant family to becoming the first in his family to attend college, a professor by the age of 30, and eventually one of the pioneers of computer art. Sometimes you work on projects that feel really career-defining, and this is one of those moments. Being in Paris last night for Oscar Murillo’s opening, seeing the scale of the exhibition at David Zwirner, the history, and the years of dedication from both the artist and the collectors who have believed in his work, felt incredibly enriching. There was something quite profound about the seriousness and commitment behind it all. A sense of permanence, of something built to last rather than something fleeting. @jamiegourlay and I are so thankful to be part of bringing Frequencies to a whole new audience. It’s a huge undertaking, but what makes it so exciting is the opportunity to build on decades of artistic commitment and bring that to an entirely new audience.
