Both parties have had full control of the government multiple times in 30 years.
Healthcare is still broken.
Housing is still unaffordable.
Wages are still stagnant.
At some point, the argument that one side is the solution stops being believable.

2 years to come up with an agenda, or the future is very dim for mobility
Get in every room you can, making complaining videos online isn’t political leverage when everyone else is trying to mobilize
Should be understood, but clearly it’s not

+ on that note, we eventually need to have a communal conversation about the kinds of Black individuals certain… institutions cultivate, the politics they internalize + what happens when they ascend to positions of power.
And where were the parents?
A 6-year-old girl was grabbed off her bicycle by a stranger and forced into a car in broad daylight.
But a neighbour witnessed the kidnapping and immediately jumped into his own vehicle to chase after them. He desperately tried to keep up, but suddenly lost sight of the car, with the little girl still trapped inside.
It happened in Louisville, Kentucky. Prentiss Weatherford was outside his home when he saw the man grab the little girl and speed away. Refusing to let her disappear, he jumped into his car and took off after the suspect.
As he followed the vehicle through the streets, Prentiss managed to identify it as a red Dodge Challenger and memorize the last three digits of its license plate. But when the car disappeared from sight, he spotted a police officer and quickly passed along everything he knew.
Police immediately began searching the surrounding neighbourhood, using the information Prentiss had given them. About 30 minutes after the kidnapping, officers spotted a vehicle matching his description.
When an officer opened the passenger door, he found the terrified little girl crying for her daddy. He immediately lifted her into his arms and carried her to safety.
The suspect was arrested, and the little girl was reunited with her family, unharmed.
Sometimes, saving a life starts with simply refusing to look the other way. Thank God Prentiss was there when this little girl needed him most.

I feel like saying our ancestors died for our right to vote reduces their struggle for liberation to just the ballot box. Like they didn’t die for it, they were murdered fighting for liberation past the ballot

Give Millennials the ball.
We’re pushing 40 and still being told to wait our turn by people who need help opening a PDF.

We’re living on borrowed time. We need to return to building multigenerational homes, family compounds, and community-owned land. Nobody should spend 18 years paying rent without a pathway toward ownership or equity. We’re financing everybody else’s generational wealth while struggling to build our own. Nothing is guaranteed, and nobody is coming to save us. We have to organize, pool our resources, acquire land, build institutions, and create something our children and grandchildren can inherit. Collective ownership starts with collective action.
You can see it in the way they talk about Jaydon
One thing I always think about…
If we had a young kid with the same about of singing and dancing talent as MJ, the era we are in wouldn’t cultivate them to become a star. The sound of music wouldn’t fit them, and they would have to make trendy, thin, TikTok music that couldn’t compare to “I want you back” or “Who’s lovin you.” At most, they would gain a moderate YouTube following just doing covers of older songs.

Idk it’s hard for me to believe Black Americans are xenophobic when every space they carve out for themselves is eventually flooded with immigrants with virtually zero pushback.

Techno was created by a Black American named Juan Atkins from Detroit. Techno was NOT created in Berlin like many seem to think. RIP to this phenomenal Pioneer!
Rest in Peace Juan Atkins “the godfather of techno.” His unconventional sounds became the blueprint for an entire new genre of music, influencing generations of producers, DJs and record labels, like ours.
“I don’t know how you can love music and be close-minded... Life would be boring if you just adhered to the same protocol every day, so there are guys like me out there championing the cause for different and alternative ways of life and listening to music.” Juan Atkins
