This week, Canada’s space community gathered to honour Marc Garneau’s legacy at @CanGeo, and I served as CAPCOM for @Astro_Kutryk’s second EVA. A fitting tribute to a colleague and a friend who inspired generations as we continued advancing human space exploration.

I have an immense amount of respect for Alex. At @NASA he often seemed to be the only one who wanted metrics, analysis, and deep thought put into what we do in space and why we do it. I am certain that @csa_asc will benefit greatly from his leadership. Allons-y !
Congratulations Alex on your appointment as the President of the Canadian Space Agency! Looking forward to helping you achieve Canada’s next great achievements in Space. 🚀🇨🇦

🇨🇦Congratulations to Alexander MacDonald on his appointment as the new President of @csa_asc.
Canada is not just a key international partner, but a unique Cooperating State within the @esa family. At a time when space matters more than ever, our strong transatlantic bond and shared commitments strengthen our capabilities and what we can achieve together.
Looking forward to welcoming Alexander to the Intermediate Ministerial Meeting in Rome this December and working closely together!

Another proud day for the Canada flag as @Astro_Kutryk takes the maple leaf out into the vacuum of space on his second spacewalk with @astro_anil to install the last new solar array. Proud to see @Astro_Jenni supporting this complex and risky endeavour again from @NASAJohnson Mission Control. Stay safe.

The on-orbit deployment of Canadarm in 1981 was recognized as a national 🇨🇦 historic event. Some of the pioneers from industry and government who developed the arm were present. Canadarm was foundational in establishing our human spaceflight program

If you’re under 26, you have never lived a day without someone orbiting above you.
26 years ago today, the first resident crew arrived at the ISS. Humanity has had a home in space ever since.
The research and advances made possible by our crews, teams on the ground and international partners have helped prepare us to live and work on the Moon and Mars.
As we transition to the next era of our presence in low Earth orbit, we build on everything they have made possible.
