He clears his throat, waving away the notion. He really should pick his words more carefully. He'll give people the wrong idea of him. . . "No no, I misspoke, I promise. . While it's true that I have certain struggles. . it's nothing so grim. I'm fine, truly. .thank you for ++

A brow quirked , already rather clear in his facial expression that he had no intention of letting that go . 〝 Uhh , well — Y - You know you can talk to me about anythin' , yeah .ᐣ These ‘ motions ’ , y' don't have to face 'em alone . 〞

𝐋Σ𝐎𝐍☆@splendidcounterOct 27

"Oh, I don't know, you might have a hit on your hands with that Grapploct of yours." He hummed, finding his next words. "I've been fine, just going about the motions. No. .That sounds more grim than I intended. . .Ahem, Ignore that, everything is going swimmingly."

〝 That sounds 𝘱𝘳𝘦𝘵𝘵𝘺 fuckin' precious , I don't think i can top that . 〞 A chuckle of his own soon followed , arms folding neatly over his chest as the next batch of words emerged . 〝 How've you been anyway .ᐣ 〞

Oh, so that's what he meant. The silly imagery drew a chuckle from the former champion's throat. He shook his head, "Oh, the net will love that, myself included. Pokémon playing music is always popular these days. I once watched someone train their Furfrou to play chopsticks."

〝 Mmm , not yet . Bought a cat keyboard for my Grapploct and it's havin' a blast . 〞 He cackled , the reaction from Leon going exaaaactly as planned . 〝 Maybe I'll have to put on a little concert for ya' sometime . Entry fee is still undecided . 〞

A breath gathered in Leon's chest, ready to meet the rebuttal that never came. He treasured every inch of this man, insecurities, imperfections, and all. He knew how to counter those doubts, how to gently guide him back from the ledge when his thoughts grew too cruel.++

ㅤ "You are my home, Leon. That'll never change." A smile tugged at the corner of his lips. Slowly, one brow arched, a familiar glint of amusment returning to his eyes. "Now, what sort of plans have you in mind ... ?" ㅤ

After a moment, another thought seemed to brighten his features. "We should take the little ones trick-or-treating. I think it'd be a nice little outing for them, a chance to take a break and just enjoy themselves. No responsibilities, no worries. . . just candy and silly++

He was about to correct him when the question struck him like a brick to the temple. "I'm sorry??" He asked, baffled. "Is that a viral video that I missed? I'm not quite understanding. . ."

(Leon pauses, lips parting slightly as words form and die on the tip of his tongue. He'd shared many a vulnerable moment with this man, each one steeped in solace and quiet reverence. . . but there was something about the weariness in his tone that struck him deeply.++
