Stefan's own view (in private, which he won't ever air in public) is MCFC always asked Abu Dhabi for cash and then tried to make it look legit after the fact. So nothing to see here? I'll look forward to him addressing this on his next TalkSport appearance.
See the timeline of MCFC’s arch propagandist, @slbsn, to see how triggered that faction of the City support have become. Any neutral would be questioning why this is taking so long as opposed to attacking anyone asking why it’s taking so long.
The YouTube version of a pod I recorded 2 wks ago with @DuncanCastles about MCFC case. I was "on holiday" in Cornwall at the time. Hugely gratified about the positive feedback. And if you want somewhere gorgeous to go in Cornwall, go to Watergate Bay.

I wanted to write a 1,500-word piece about oligarchs, foreign money and how English football was changing. My editor wanted 200 words until I told him there was a lingerie model in the story.

This is brilliant independent journalism.

It would be fascinating to get inside the head of a brainwashed Man City fan and follow their thought processes and contortions over over the past few years. If anyone knows who @Woody7716 (or similar) is, drop me an email, and I'll ask them about their experience.
Weekend No750 of waking up to Man City fans hurling abuse, often mild like this from @realchriswood, who doesn’t follow me, never reads my work, but has decided journalism is rage bait because … his football team. Have a lovely Sunday, Chris.

You again. Abuse is not great especially personal ones. I read his articles and wonder why he calls himself a journalist. Not proper or excellent it’s poor, driven by obsession and full of bias, he uses rage for clicks, not sure why you reward him? Maybe you can buy your awards?
It's got to be you, Fab. For your entirely consistent reporting on Man City, both via your forensic work on the guilty verdicts and the years of controversy and previous punishments, and for your hagiography coverage of wins such as today's 3-2 versus Ipswich.
Hi Veejay, your "how it reads for me" seems a little extreme. I don't want anyone destroyed. I don't want City punished out of existence. But if upheld after appeal(s), the many guilty verdicts of egregious cheating should be suitably punished. As should any other club's cheating

The Tribune revisit the Rob Beal story, which was always extraordinary, and still is, and not in a good way
Over the past 20 years, Sheffield man Rob Beal has worked as a senior civil servant, become an expert in airline safety, and hob-nobbed with football bigwigs from Qatar.
But none of that is true. He is actually Sheffield’s most successful media hoaxster.

There are multiple voices in the media landscape who are getting paid - in cash or kind - to paint #ManCity in a good light, or as still innocent. Who, and why?
@sportingintel at your service 👇Excellent piece.

Duncan is right. Infantino is far from finished, and as I've said before, for all his many many many faults, I think he'll go into next year's FIFA presidential election with a fighting chance of winning. Unfortunately.
Like a heavyweight boxer, @FIFAcom President Gianni Infantino has absorbed everything his opponents can throw at him, but is still standing. His critics are running out of ideas and appear exhausted.
When the controversy erupted about Infantino's plans to sell off 20 per cent of the @FIFAWorldCup to a venture capital firm with links to Donald Trump, it seemed impossible to believe he could survive. Now it seems impossible to believe he will not survive. Even Europe is no longer unanimous about wanting Infantino out.
As he prepares to face the full FIFA Council for the first time since football's civil war began, the #ZeusFiles discovers that @UEFA's failure to find a credible candidate to stand against Infantino has proved a massive mistake.

And we have released your speech in our Play the Game Podcast👇

Man City haven't engaged with journalists for many years about their cheating. "No comment" has largely been the default since 2014, when they were first punished for cooking the books.
Apart from briefing to select pro-City journalists. You know who you are.

Below is a speech I gave in 2022, at the Play The Game conference in Denmark, about years of covering City's cheating and their "no comment" stance. Fast forward to 13 mins of this video for the start of the speech.
