Lithuania's former president Valdas Adamkus turns 100 today, joining an exclusive club of world leaders to reach their centenary, including Jimmy Carter. His life is simply extraordinary:
> Born in 1926 in independent Lithuania
> Published a resistance paper while under Nazi occupation
> At 17, left the safety of exile in Germany and returned to Lithuania, joining volunteers resisting Soviets. Survived the Battle of Seda (vastly outgunned Lithuanian volunteers faced Soviet tanks).
> Escaped back to Germany by hiding beneath a tank on a military train
> Ran 100m in 10.8 seconds
> Helped organize the Olympic Games of the Enslaved Nations, winning two golds and two silvers himself
> Arrived in America as a refugee in 1949. Worked in a Chicago car factory and studied engineering
> Drafted into the US Army. Knowing Russian, had a translator posting
> Handed VP Nixon a petition with >38,000 signatures for Lithuania's independence
> Became a senior Environmental Protection Agency official, serving under SIX American presidents and helping clean up the Great Lakes
> Nicknamed "Mr. Lithuania" by Ronald Reagan
> Returned to Soviet-occupied Lithuania in 1972 as a US government official
> 54 years after fleeing Lithuania, was elected President of a newly independent homeland
> Served two terms while helping secure Lithuania's path into NATO
What a man. 🇱🇹 🇺🇸

Russia has lost many wars. Ukraine will be no exception

The Russian lose more men in a month of combat than the US in 15 years of war in Vietnam. We must end this war through strength by supporting Ukraine!
In October, our Defense Forces of Ukraine inflicted record losses on the enemy and recaptured more territory than the Russian occupiers managed to seize.
In just one month, Russia lost 54,400 troops killed or badly wounded. This is a record for any month of the full-scale war. There was also a record for daily losses – the Russian army lost 2,250 troops on October 21. Importantly, we continue to reclaim what is ours. In October, the Defense Forces liberated 96.2 square kilometers of Ukrainian land, which is 10.4 square kilometers more than the occupiers managed to capture during that time.
We thank all our defenders, all our warriors, every brigade, and every unit for this important result for our country. Russia is suffering losses. We are holding our positions, liberating territory, and making every day of the war as costly as possible for the aggressor. To stop these insane losses, all Russia needs to do is choose a ceasefire and diplomacy.

PANIC IN MOSCOW: Russian military bloggers are spiraling as Ukraine launches its most aggressive and precise refinery-destruction campaign yet!
⚡ 3 of Russia’s LARGEST oil refineries hit in just 72 hours.
With Russian air defense stripped bare to cover the frontlines, Kremlin assets are sitting ducks. The reality is sinking in: the previous strikes were just a warmup. Ukraine is systematically dismantling Russia’s energy backbone, and Moscow is completely powerless to stop it.
🔥 The fire is spreading. The war has come home.

Maybe you haven't noticed, but Russia has started openly attacking vessels in Romanian, Bulgarian, and Greek waters. This is NATO territory. Afterwards, we'll hear from the "realists" that it's Europe that's provoking a war with Russia.
