I developed AF after decades of following NHS advice to ignore my symptoms and get more exercise. This is what happened after I was diagnosed:

Fun Fact - I know my drawing below does not look that crazy, but it was by far the most technically difficult drawing I have completed.
This is one non-intersecting line. I drew it with a pen. I wanted to share it.

If you thought the @andyburnham government was going to be different, you were right
After re-opening the North Sea to more exploitation of gas (and probably oil), they now have renewables in their sights
It really does beggar belief

NHS HAS A STEP-BY-STEP GUIDE FOR DESTROYING WHISTLEBLOWERS.
Peter Gooderham was an academic lawyer and former doctor. He spent most of his working life trying to understand why @NHS staff who raised patient safety concerns kept ending up bankrupt, mentally broken, or both. Before he died in 2011, he sat down with Private Eye (@PrivateEyeNews) and documented the playbook in full.
It goes like this.
First, cut their secretarial support. Block their merit awards. Briefing against them informally. Tell colleagues they have attitude problems and can't move on. None of this is illegal. All of it is deliberate.
Then dig up dirt. Real or invented. Allege mental illness. The stress of the process makes this self-fulfilling, which is convenient. Refuse to disclose documents. Claim it's a local employment matter. The Department of Health will back this up because they always do.
Then apply to the Treasury for public money to pay them off and shut them up. Some gagging agreements require the whistleblower to sign statements saying all their concerns have been addressed. Even when they haven't. Even when people are still dying.
If they refuse the money, send the lawyers. Threaten libel. Throw public funds at employment tribunals, where NHS trusts are seasoned professionals and the whistleblower is walking in alone. If the trust loses, appeal. Keep appealing until the whistleblower runs out of money. The public purse is unlimited. Their savings are not.
And if none of that works, don't worry. Public inquiries are, in Gooderham's own words, belated exercises in grief management that seldom change anything. By the time one arrives, the people responsible have moved on and the problems are dismissed as historical.
The Gooderham playbook was not a historical curiosity. A @Channel4 investigation found gagging clauses in 55 of 64 NHS compromise agreements sampled. Over 40 NHS organisations refused to provide information on how many they had signed. One trust wanted over £10,000 just to produce the information. Another argued you couldn't even publish their reasons for refusing.
This is a system that was designed, iteratively, over decades, to neutralise whistleblowers.
The public funds the mechanism. The mechanism silences the people trying to protect the public. And then a public inquiry happens 15 years later and describes the culture as disappointing.

Wouldn’t a truck that is essentially a mirror be a driving hazard to those on the road with him?
The cost to professionally polish your Cybertruck is $8,000, and we come directly to you! That includes all travel and hotel expenses. The process takes approximately 3 days.
Here's why it's worth it:
✅ One-Time Investment – Since your Cybertruck is stainless steel, the mirror finish can last the lifetime of the truck with proper care. No routine full repolishing needed!
✅ Easy Maintenance – Less noticeable fingerprints, easier cleaning, touchless car washes are fine, and no ceramic coating required!
✅ Unbelievable Appearance – A stunning mirror finish that completely transforms your Cybertruck and makes it stand out!
✅ No Wraps or Films – Nothing to peel, fade, bubble, or replace.
We've polished 77 Cybertrucks nationwide, backed by over 17 years of metal polishing experience.
One polish. Long-lasting shine. A completely different Cybertruck!
After Cyberfest in Florida in November we will be heading back to Cali and working our way back to Florida...and up the coast. We will be hitting Cali, AZ, Texas and Florida...we have got deposits already paid for these areas but left room for more as we can keep the cost lower if we can do more in the same area.

How many harmed patients also feel this way too? I know I do.
If only Katie's GP had warned her about #PSSD
If only my hip surgeon had warned me of the risk of intimate crush injury by the #PerinealPost
If only #Mesh surgeons had been transparent about the horrific risks.
If only, if only, if only, if only!!!!
So, many different medications/surgeries/procedures, all resulting in completely avoidable harm.
Denying patients informed consent needlessly destroys lives.
Countless harms could have been so easily prevented had a few simple words been spoken.
Devastating!!

A simple "by the way, #antidepressants can cause serious sexual problems for a lot of people - I realise you're young, so I recommend that you take some time to carefully consider whether this is something you want to risk" would have saved my life

456 PATIENTS DIED
This is one of the biggest medical scandals in British history and there is a decent chance you have never heard of it.
Between 1988 and 2000, patients admitted to Gosport War Memorial Hospital in Hampshire for things like hip fractures and chest infections were routinely put on syringe drivers pumping a steady stream of diamorphine, a powerful opioid. Many were not in pain. Most died within days of being hooked up.
Nurses noticed straight away. In 1988, staff on the Redclyffe Annexe told their managers something was badly wrong. They told their union, the Royal College of Nursing. They kept raising it for years. Management's response was to tell them to stop making waves.
The doctor overseeing the prescribing was Dr Jane Barton. In 2010 the General Medical Council @gmcuk found her guilty of serious professional misconduct in the care of 12 patients. She was not struck off. She retired instead, presumably somewhere with no syringe drivers.
3 separate police investigations by Hampshire Constabulary went absolutely nowhere across 3 decades. Zero prosecutions. Grieving families asking why their relatives died 5 days after routine surgery were treated as the problem.
Then in 2018, after a 4 year inquiry costing 14 million pounds, the Gosport Independent Panel confirmed what those nurses said in 1988.
456 patients died after being given opioids with no medical justification. The panel said probably 200 more died the same way, but their records had gone missing, because of course they had.
Kent Police @kent_police then launched Operation Magenta, reviewing over 750 patient records, taking 1200 witness statements and eventually naming 24 suspects. In November 2025, 7 years into that investigation and 37 years after the first nurse spoke up, police told the families of 101 patients there would be no charges. Their cases did not meet the evidential test. The rest remain under review, with the Crown Prosecution Service @CPSUK holding the final say on any charges, whenever that call finally comes.
So here is where things stand. A regulator confirmed the misconduct. A panel confirmed the cover-up. Nurses were proven right 30 years after the fact. And to this date, not one person has been prosecuted for any of the 456 deaths.
If you raise a concern about patient safety and get ignored for 3 decades, congratulations, you were right all along. Doesn't bring anyone back though.

Why does the law do nothing to protect those who were purposely denied informed consent and needlessly, permanently harmed?

When will patients be protected?

Aiming to addict children and young people under 18 to nicotine of any kind will set them up for lifelong health harms and is completely unacceptable.
New regulations coming in today will make it harder for those trying to profit from doing this.
