I’ve been trying to compare Jinja with New Delhi and found out that the Indian capital is the most polluted city in the world. Think about it, an Indian Magan Patel from the most dirtiest city in the world wants to construct a hotel in our green park in Jinja and turn Uganda into a Delhi🤔 We can’t accept this kamanyiro and degradation of our natural green parks by foreigners. #SaveJinjaNilePark

His parents named Mbuuse Yokana, the world knew him as Kapere Lufotose and his friends called him Taata Twamp. He was a friend to many, a beautiful soul whose presence touched lives, and I have no doubt that he will be dearly missed. I’m one of the many who were fortunate enough to experience his friendship. He was a man who refused to be defined by his appearance, he let his sincerity, character and heart speak for him. And what a beautiful heart he had! What an interesting character! A loving husband who made his wife proud, a gifted artist who understood the power of his voice and chose to use it for the good of his country. Kapere lived a life of purpose, serving his country in the best way he knew how. He was a patriot, a gentleman, and a man whose infectious humour could light up even the saddest of moments. It is painful to accept that we will no longer have you amongst us to share those moments with you, my brother. But perhaps that is the price we pay for having known someone whose presence meant so much. To Maama Twamp and the children, may God give you strength and comfort in the days ahead. I pray that the beautiful memories you shared with him will become a source of strength whenever the pain of his absence becomes unbearable. You will not walk this difficult journey alone. Rest peacefully, my man. Your contribution will not be forgotten, and your spirit will live on in the lives you touched, including myself. Wumula mirembe, chali wange🫡

It’s really sad
A few moments back, I just received the most devastating news regarding the untimely passing of our brother, dear friend and comrade Yokana Mbuuse fondly called Kapere Lufotose. A man who made every dark moment light. A man who loved his country and wished it well! A loss so difficult to take in.

Yesterday at the Lincoln Memorial in Washington D.C., I was honored to join distinguished human rights defenders coming from Uganda and elsewhere to stand in solidarity with political prisoners and others who have died in detention across the world. At the event, I had the opportunity to read out loud the names of many of our detained comrades in Uganda including Dr. Kizza Besigye, Ms. Kajja Doreen, and Mr. Waiswa Mufumbiro. I added my voice to the many calling upon free people anywhere in the world to support and defend the rights of political prisoners, and to support their families. I reiterate my gratitude to The October 30 Coalition, and the @NEDemocracy, for working tirelessly to raise awareness of the International Day of Political Prisoners (30 October) and advance the freedom of political prisoners worldwide. #FreeAllPoliticslPrisonersInUganda

🚨🚨ATTENTION ATTENTION🚨🚨🚨 As we were busy fighting for city square , an Indian investor was also busy grabbing Jinja Nile park, the biggest public park in Jinja. A scheduled event where cabbage Muhoozi was a chief guest to launch the construction of a shs 860bn hotel was abruptly cancelled yesterday following pressure from local environmental groups, residents and politicians. A Nile Agro industries group owned by Magan Patel is behind the grabbing of 12 acres of public park located near the source of the Nile although the actual owner is suspected to be a family member of M7s family. #SaveNilePark
