Official since 2011. No story ideas please. Other than for promotion and PR I'm not here a lot, mostly on Patreon, so posts there will get a faster reply

From time to time folks will see a discussion of my work and say "I didn't know you worked on (fill in the gap)", or don't know I worked on *anything* after the 90s. Hence, this video, updated for 2026, but which doesn't have the upcoming new movies. youtu.be/w_aP30AI7ts

I asked politely. Some seem to think this is a great chance to dance up to the line in an "I'm not touching you, does this bother you?" kind of way. This isn't a joke. From this point on, I start blocking.

Could you make it about 1-3 and the substandard construction methods and lax security protocols

Now a show about the Shadow Wars after B4 went back to the past....

Given that 1-3 were sabotaged during construction and ended up just big hunks of metal, and we already know what happened to B4, there's nothing much there. Also B5 is the franchise name; if we try to sell B5 but it's about B4 no studio would make it assuming I'd lost my mind.

@straczynski I’m sure this has been asked before… Have you ever considered prequels, telling the stories of Babylon 1 through 4 (which we only know in part).

Thank you...there's something to be said for multigenerational neural mucking-about.

@straczynski I have not watched Babylon5 since it was originally broadcast. My wife and I were looking for a new show to watch and I said let’s watch it. She has never been a sci-fi fan but she loves Babylon5!!! We have been borrowing the disks from the library and are in the middle of season 4. It’s been fun discussing the episodes with her after we watch them. When my 19 year old is around he enjoys the episodes and plans to watch it over the summer. My 12 year old son is enjoying it and loves to repeat Zathras quotes! Babylon5 is deep and intelligent sci-fi.

Thank you for those kind words, they are much appreciated. Good luck on your journey.

I just bought both "Becoming Superman" and "Becoming a Writer, Staying a Writer." Enjoyed both. The latter is probably going to become my new "Bible," so to speak, with multiple formats, notes, and studies in years to come. Thank you for your work!!!

No, so this is either an old note reposted, or a troll. Give me the exact link so I can address it.
Apologies for the tweet, on FB a site stated you've just announced a new B5 animated movie. Is this BS about B5? - I hope not, I enjoyed the last one @straczynski

Some folks online recently bumped into my autobiography without knowing there had actually been one. And while searching other topics today I bumped into one of the reviews of said book on NPR, which I took as a sign to link it here for the curious. npr.org/2019/07/23/744294351…

Warner Bros. Licensing is handled by the Warner Bros. Licensing Department. An established publisher contacts Warner Bros. Licensing Department to make a deal to license books and/or games. If the deal is acceptable, they make a licensing deal.
Replying to @straczynski
It would be nice if I knew exactly whom to speak to in regards to the deal.

I have nothing to do with the making of licensing deals.

Wish you would bring back the miniatures game Babylon 5 :A call to Arms that Mongoose Publishing did. It was one of the best space combat games I ever played, and they really did a great job with the ship minatures.

I appreciate the vote of confidence, but I lack the authority to release B5 in any form, anywhere at any time. The channel is 100% run/owned by Warners. My role is simply that of a flying monkey helping with publicity.
If you didn't know, @straczynski has been making episodes of Babylon 5 available for free on YouTube! Today's upload seems fitting! All Alone in the Night | S2 E11 | Babylon 5 FULL EPISODE youtu.be/21-rAViNyvQ?si=9v_f…

@straczynski's interaction with his audience is legendary. You can just ask a question and you'll likely get a response. That reminds me, was the representation of Shadows in Road Home intentional to make them look like Starship Troopers bugs and not political eldritch horrors?

In addition to the NPR piece here's another one about BECOMING SUPERMAN from the BBC that I think came out very well. bbc.co.uk/programmes/w3csz37…
Jeebus @straczynski ... Now I HAVE to read about your background... LOVE B5 and my childhood was somewhat formed by it. Looking forward to more sir! 🤠🫡

Given that history, a number of people over time have said I should have ended up a serial killer. Instead I became a writer, which is about three steps down. But there's still time...the dream remains....

My first full-time TV gig for sure. Prior to that I had a ten year career as a freelance journalist (San Diego Reader, Los Angeles Times, Daily Californian, Twilight Zone Magazine, Los Angeles Herald Examiner, and TIME, Inc. among others) then moved on to pursue new arenas.

The folks at Union Square just informed me that according to Bookscan, HARLAN ELLISON'S GREATEST HITS is the #5 top-selling SF Anthology of all time, and #1 for the period from 2021-present. Over 170,000 copies in print, available here in three versions. hachettebookgroup.com/titles…

Wow...I'd completely forgot I'd ever written this episode. It was also kind of a wink-and-a-nod to how much Filmation was annoyed by having to animate mouths (which is why so much dialogue happens on the back of someone's head). Not quite meta but lives next door to it.
Something tells me this is a meta joke from @straczynski

1990s: @straczynski writes "...the terrorist nuking of San Diego" in #Babylon5 2026: Donald Trump suggests allowing Iran to take out a US city such as San Diego. Great Maker, are you actually from the future?
