Clive Barker Is “F**ing Delighted” With Hellraiser: Revival* In an interview with Dread Central, the creator of the Cenobites admitted he initially had concerns about the project, but those fears were ultimately put to rest. “At one point, I was afraid the game would be overly censored, but I’m genuinely amazed by how far they managed to go.” Barker worked closely with the developers at Saber Interactive as a consultant and believes this is exactly how a licensed adaptation should be handled. “I think what they’ve achieved with the game is a wake-up call for everyone who has been involved in creating a franchise like Hellraiser.” His comments also appear to take a swipe at several filmmakers who have worked on the franchise. Barker regained the rights to Hellraiser several years ago and considers the game a continuation of the story that ignores all films after the second installment. He now wants to expand the Hellraiser universe through comics, but would also “love to take those stories further into film.” The horror legend also made it clear that his collaboration with Saber Interactive isn’t over. “I’m looking forward to working with them again on other projects.”
