During year 2 of sobriety I'm going to move onto phase 2 of "What does Kel want to do with her life?" and that will be throwing myself into working my way into the addiction support field. My ultimate goal is to be a group coordinator for group therapy sessions. I'm determined.

DAY 28 - HALLOWEEN (2007) So I don't particularly think Michael needed an origin story. He was much scarier as a 6 yr old boy that killed his sister for no reason. But I do appreciate what Rob Zombie did. It's an alright film. I feel it needed to be watched before Halloween 1978!

Carved some pumpkins and took all the seeds out so I can bake them and give them to the gerbils. I'm sat at the kitchen table waiting for the pumpkin seeds to be ready. Tyson is like "Can I have some, too?" 😂

In the beginning I found sobriety to be so daunting. Like, what do you mean I'll never have a Long Island Iced Tea cocktail EVER AGAIN? It's so FINAL. I grieved. But I've done a lot of accepting. Acceptance is a great thing. And it's gradual. I've closed that chapter of my life.

I understand that there won't be an alert noise, an "ACHIEVEMENT UNLOCKED" notification and then the video game will be over when I turn a year sober Saturday. Addiction doesn't end, unfortunately. The meter will keep ticking. I'll start the NEXT year. But I'm still excited!

I'm watching Last One Laughing series 2. Once again I just know I would be fucking tragic in this situation. I can't cope. I keep laughing. I'd be the first out. Dry British humour is my downfall. We're so good at it.

DAY 27 - PARANORMAL ACTIVITY 3 (2011) I haven't seen this in years, but I do remember thinking this entry was the best in the franchise. I recall being freaked out. I never really found the first film very scary at all, but I know a lot of people love it so fair enough!

Something that stuck with me is when I was really drunk one night. My mum went to sit upstairs. I asked why. She simply said "I don't want to be around you because you're not a very nice person like this." She doesn't think that anymore. She says I'm funny and pleasant sober.

DAY 26 - THE FACULTY (1998) A little cheesy, 90s, underrated as fuck gem of a horror movie. Screams meets Invasion of the Body Snatchers meets The Thing. Such a good cast. I always recommend this film because not nearly enough people talk about it. It's just silly fun.

Absolutely panicking about the cup of tea I made. Did I do it right? He asked for milk and 1 sugar. I did a properly strong Yorkshire teabag with a splash of milk and a teaspoon of sugar. That's the correct way, right? Since when did I start making tea for builders in my home!?

4 years ago I was drinking a litre of vodka a day. I was topping up my drinks at 4am, 7am, before getting in the taxi for work. If I was working from home I'd be drinking all throughout the day, on mute in Teams calls. Now look at me. Everything is so different.
