Sad to hear that Marstons Brewery in Burton is set to close. Brewers if some of the famous beers of the Midlands, this is a travesty. Burton was the centre of British Empire brewing, now only Coors will remain as a major brewer in the town. This country's heritage is dying.
If I fell into a barrel of tits, I come out sucking my thumb! I don't even get the £100 rebate as we live in a house in Band E because it's in the country! Jeez!
Replying to @BBCBreakfast
Brilliant. I don't eat baked beans, there are no bus services in my village and I'm not on mains gas. I am an employer however so all the pain and none of the "gain".
So to be clear, we are told that the cost of living is due to the Russians whilst giving the money to Ukraine. Stop pissing up our backs and telling us it's raining!
What a beautiful statue. Well done @Ascot
How is it that EVERY @easyJet flight has someone with a nut allergy. I have flown on them for years and never once been asked that specific question so how do they know? And do they attract nut allergists exclusively as every flight seems a high average?!
Forgot it was half term. Kids everywhere but the worst is the fawning parents expecting all of us to be involved in whatever their kids demand and hearing about it in extra loud voices.
Mrs M...on a bus! Although she did visit Kenilworth Road for the first time to see @LutonTown win! I thinks she's spoilt!
Shady has decided the weather is getting cold and being as the Aga is on, maybe the kitchen should be his new home. If he's not careful he will be in the Aga 😂
I remember my Dad sobbing when the anniversary was mentioned. He was deployed as part of the clean up / recovery team and recalled the silence, the total emptiness of a generation ripped from a community. The "little people" treated terribly by govt and officials. ❤️

Gary Moore is a brilliant horseman. Hard working and loves his horses as "people" as he calls them. Jamie & Josh will be brilliant together with Gary and Jayne at their backs. Good luck all.
"Instead of them working for me, I'll be working for them!"
Gary Moore says he will step down from training from next Wednesday at Fontwell, with son Jamie joining his brother Josh on the training license... @hayleyjanemoore
What a career 🙌
We cannot fit half the world into the British Isles so the only way we can do this is recolonize their countries so they can get back what they so obviously miss. Seems a good plan. Worked last time.
I binge watched @BBC Time last night.. seriously one of the best bits of TV I've seen this year. The final part is a MUST Watch? Brilliant TV.
Who needs the SAS when we have highly trained sharp shooters at Yorkshire Wildlife Park... apparently. Some of the comments on here 🤣
PM says it is 'clear' Russia interfered with Brexit vote
bbc.co.uk/news/articles/c6jd…. If true then this is OUR democracy so let's see the details. Otherwise this seems an easy option for saying any vote they don't like is rigged so just ignore it. Politicians need to give facts.
Well said. This was a tragic situation for everyone concerned and the statement here is totally correct. This young man will have family who are bereft today and we should perhaps spare a thought for them in all this.
Since news broke of the young man’s death at Yorkshire Wildlife Park, I have read comments that have left me deeply saddened.
Before the full facts were known, people were already passing judgement. Even after his death was announced, some were saying that he deserved what happened.
He did not deserve to die.
This was someone’s baby. Someone’s son, loved by his family, who should have come home.
There have been reports that he had autism and learning difficulties, although his personal circumstances have not yet been officially confirmed.
As an aunt to nephews with additional needs, I understand that there is no single way in which those needs present themselves. They can affect how someone communicates, processes their surroundings, recognises danger, assesses consequences or responds in an unfamiliar situation.
What may appear obvious to one person may not be understood in the same way by another. We do not yet know what this young man understood, what he was experiencing or what was going through his mind. We should not pretend that we do.
I have seen cruel comments from people who have “be kind” written in their biographies. Perhaps it is time we started practising what we preach. Kindness matters most when somebody is vulnerable and when a family is experiencing unimaginable grief.
I do not blame the tiger. It was acting on instinct, and I am relieved that it is safe and unharmed.
Nor is this post intended to blame Yorkshire Wildlife Park, which carries out important conservation, welfare and education work. The circumstances surrounding this tragedy will rightly be investigated by the appropriate authorities. That process should be based on evidence, not rumours or social-media speculation.
We can recognise the work of the park, understand that the tiger was acting naturally and still show compassion for the young man who lost his life. Those things are not mutually exclusive.
His family and everyone affected by what happened are in my thoughts today. My heart breaks for the people who loved him. These must have been among the most devastating 24 hours of their lives.
Compassion costs nothing.
