With the League Cup Quarter Finals drawn last night, we go back to December 1991, when Saint & Greavsie visited Trump Tower in New York, for the League Cup Quarter Final draw with a certain Donald Trump drawing the away teams.
Fair play to the ManU fans. The last few seconds is excellent from them as they show which man they respect.
Fans showing their love and appreciation for Michael Carrick at the end here at Old Trafford. Less so for the #mufc players… Says it all at the end here…
Yeah Bayern are starting to ramp up the market for him. He's off to Spain, probably Real, for maybe €200m.
If MGW is leaving next summer, #nffc should be aiming for up to €100m from Bayern (assuming the rumoured interest is genuine).
🚨 Bayern’s Uli Hoeneß: “Michael Olise is well on his way to becoming the best player in the world. For me he’s better than Lamine Yamal”.
“He scores goals, provides assists, is fast – practically the perfect player”, told @weltamsonntag.
Did our MPs go to school? Dear me.
Profit taxes don't touch marginal cost short-term, but economy-wide they alter capital allocation. If post-tax returns drop, future investment drops, long-run supply shrinks, and prices rise. The tax never stays entirely on the firm - we pay.
Nope, that’s not how taxes and price works. The price is determined by demand and supply.
Companies charge the highest price they can given demand. A tax levied on *profits* does not affect a company’s cost ie supply.
Taxes on *windfall* profits (like oil and gas) are the most efficient kind of tax there is.
Readers added context they thought people might want to know
Corporate profit taxes do not directly shift marginal costs but empirical studies show partial pass-through into higher consumer prices. Windfall taxes on oil and gas have deterred investment and production in practice despite theoretical efficiency on rents.

Don't hold your breath for this new £2.5bn 100k stadium replacing Old Trafford. Supposed to be built before 2035.
The ownership is toxic and old - not ideal for long-term mega investment.
Well said Lisandro. Wilcox, Berrada and the Jim reaper doing as much damage to #MUFC as the Glazers.

This is silly. If there's no #MCFC, Fergie may have stayed on and won more titles. And then Pep may have become ManU manager. Or Kloppy may have gone to Old Trafford.
Man City and Chelsea saved the Prem from becoming a farmers league.

From what I know of Stephen A, he is a good guy, but when you are spread too thin and are "doing TV," you can end up sounding truly callous & clueless.
