La legge di bilancio 2027 prevede, dal prossimo anno scolastico, una riduzione di 4.925 posti per i docenti e di altri 2.049 per il personale amministrativo, tecnico e ausiliario (ATA), per un totale di 6.974 unitร . I nuovi tagli si aggiungono ai 5.660 posti in meno per gli insegnanti dal 2025/2026 e ai 2.174 per il personale ATA dal 2026/2027. Se confermate, le riduzioni porteranno a 14.808 il numero complessivo dei posti tagliati nell'arco di tre anni scolastici. La misura, motivata anche dal calo demografico e dalla conseguente diminuzione degli studenti, consentirร  un risparmio di 83,9 milioni di euro nel 2027 e di 251,7 milioni annui dal 2028
