TIL: You think of genomes as "big data", but the SARS-CoV-2 complete genome is less than 30k base pairs (human genome has 3 bil). All known strains together would fit in a 10kb file. Such a lot of damage from something so simple. ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/nuccore/NC_…
