After 6 months using git I still don't see the advantage over svn, particularly considering all the added complexity (lots) #comeonebyone

Wow, the user experience for Git is absolutely awful. The learning curve seems way steeper than necessary. People like this, why?

It's really weird for svn to be faster than git

TBH I prefer Subversion over GIT (for small dev teams in the same workplace)

Gave up trying to manage personal project with my own git server. Back to visualSVN, productive right out of the gate. Wake up call #svn

ohshitgit.com Oh Shit, git! This is pure git. You won't find an Oh Shit Mercurial, or an Oh Shit SVN in the wild.

We're not in the stone age before version control. Subversion gave us guns which was good. But git, I'm like a toddler with nuclear weapons.

I wasted an hour today making #Git do incredibly trivial tasks that would've taken two minutes in #SVN. I don't really love #SVN, but...

.@mcclure111 I've used CVS, SVN, and now Git, all on large projects. Git works, but it always feels awkward for everything it does.

GIT is very popular but I still prefer SVN for my day to day dev and I think it's easier to teach.

(I also think of git as having a devoted team that shows up to tell me I fucked up, not git, whenever git loses my data.)

I think of Mercurial as Subversion with DVCS features. I think of git as a thing that loses my data every damned time.

Right now feeling like everyone who recommended git over svn because of the easier merges were just playing a long term prank on me

exponential over Subversion ? with TortoiseSVN, it's the only VCS I have seen people comfortably using. Git is ~x4 harder.

Binary data is not the only issue. Lack of changelists also is when it takes hours to build data after code change enemyhideout.com/2016/06/why…

When #git loses its mind and confuses previously-merged master changes for changes you made on your branch... #gitsucks

Biggest git design flaw: push/pull only at repository-level (as opposed to file-level in svn). So many push/pulls fail needlessly. #gitsucks
svn: update, resolve conflicts, done. git: ask google and colleagues for 20 minutes about obscure commands (fetch, merge-resolve). #gitsucks

And I know I can use an ssh key - but it took half an hour already to get at least get one authentication method to work. #gitsucks
