Independent arms! Those arms taking her hands and barrel to the ball. Arm extension. Not body rotation.

Arms move the hands in a direction. The barrels path follows. Barrel “lag” doesn’t happen backwards. It happens as a result of a loading barrel FROM the direction the arms take the hands in AND the weight of the bat.

Everyone speaks of the hands. But the reality of it is that the hands are attached to the arms. Swing the arms.

Hitters shouldn’t force the barrel into centrifugal motion (left) at the start of the swing forward they should be working to produce a centripetal barrel (right) that will result into centrifugal motion. In other words swing the arms not the barrel.

The arms need to have some independence so that the body can align to the launch/ start of the swing forward.

Harper is to connected with his hands to his rear shoulder. Arms not independent enough. That’s why he works those arms.
