This year’s theme for #InternationalDayForTheEliminationofViolenceAgainstWomen, “Come Together, Act Now,” calls upon everyone to get involved to change attitudes and behaviours and learn about the signs of gender-based violence to stop it in its tracks.
#16Days

ALT A woman speaks in a megaphone against a black background. Scattered around her are many small purple, pink, and blue square pixels and images showing various aspects of gender-based violence. The top left reads “16 Days of Activism Against Gender-based Violence” in purple and white text. In the top right of the image are the words “Come Together, Act Now.” These words are also in white and purple text. The Canada wordmark is in the bottom right corner.

Today is the International Day for the Elimination of Violence Against Women. NWAC supports #16DaysofActivism (Nov 25 - Dec 10) with the theme: “Every 10 Minutes, a woman is killed. #NoExcuse.” Let’s amplify the voices in our communities and demand accountability to end violence.
Rest in peace, dear colleague and friend, #MurraySinclair. My sincere condolences to your family and friends.

I extend my love to the families of the known victims of #RobertPickton. Your courage and steadfast commitment to justice changed history. My love, also, to those who will never have answers about their lost loved ones. May you find peace. With you all in spirit.
With the passing of #RobertPickton my heart goes out to those who will never know the truth about the passing of their loved one.

#RedDressDay is a day of quiet reflection for me. I remember, with gratitude, the families and survivors who shared their truths at the #NationalInquiry #MMIWG2S. I reflect on the remarkable NI staff, my colleagues and our Grandmothers. Change is happening, but too slowly.
