I have been reading ebooks, pretty exclusively, for like 4 years now. I have been doing this knowing that ebook licensing sucks for libraries. Since I am privy to 2 of the largest library networks (NYPL and QPL) I am now making an effort to get physical books from the library.

There are ebook features that make them more accessible, being able to change the font size, so even though the font will be too big...I am apparently of the age where I am requesting large print books cause I literally opened a book the other day and went "eww tiny font."

I guess I understand, but don't agree with, Disney not wanting to maintain 2 platforms but does anyone actually want Hulu on Disney+?

On the day after pride month my husband called me a fruity pebble. Is that rude or is he just aware of the household?

My goal as a middle aged white lady is to not be an old white lady that changes the vibes of an establishment for the worse

🤣🤣🤣 I've seen what you cite in your papers, I'm not worried - me, an academic librarian. Changes, sure. Replacement, no.
"Are librarians worried that they'll be replaced by A.I.?" "Not really." "I asked an A.I. resource if librarians would lose their jobs because of A.I. and it answered that they would." "Oh good, that means it almost definitely isn't going to happen."

Rule 1 - he can't stake Astarion
My husband and I are playing BG3 together for the first time... I have almost 1000 hours in the game and he has like maybe 30. He's a tiefling monk and I'm a half orc bard let's see how this goes lmao

I'm 95 hours into my Honour Mode attempt - I have pretty much only hard shift left to do in Act 3 and this morning after a small sewer fight the game decided my Tav can't move anymore. Other party members can move. Am I gonna cry over a video game?

I think I just messed up in my 80+ hour Honour Mode attempt - I just hit level 12 BUT I also decided to do the Iron Throne (successfully?) before dealing with Orin or Gortash or even going to the Foundry so I don't know what's gonna happen now on the streets but it can't be good.

My husband just started Baldur's Gate 3 and asked me what the guardian does and I just started laughing. It's even funnier cause I know I already spoiled this and he just doesn't remember.

The Android UI update I don't like is for One UI which is for Samsung Galaxy phones 😐. I don't think any other Android phones use One UI. This is extra frustrating cause I like Samsung phones but I'm really annoyed by this latest update.

The latest android UI update feels too Apple-y.

I'm old enough to remember that Jenny McCarthy was one of the first people to say that vaccines, I think measles, cause autism and if that doesn't cause you to reevaluate your anti vaccines thoughts I don't think history and facts are for you. Measles outbreaks in 30 states now.

I'm no expert but it's probably not a good thing when your therapist says you're experiencing maliase. That's sounds so much worse than ennui.

How long has it been since I played call of duty zombies? There are now 2 more directed options - the Tombs and a map I didn't even know was released. I haven't even beat Terminus and that save file is now gone cause it's been over a month (closer to 3)

Look, people probably wouldn't be trying to curtail libraries' activities and cut their funding if libraries didn't engage in problematic behaviors like "having information" and "helping people."

I need to know how other librarians handle the LOC call numbers and James Joyce cause I'm supposed to be evaluating and deselcting NOT shelf reading. I guess on the plus side I've made it this far into PR.
