So many otherwise trusted sites are posting deadly misinformation about bonfires, and hedgehogs who may be nesting under them. PLEASE BE CLEAR: ❌Poking a broom or stick under the bonfire will do nothing - even if you actually hit the hiding hedgehog and hurt her, she will NOT run. Hedgehogs DO NOT have the flight or fight reflex that humans and other animals have. Their response to threat and danger, and even pain, is to curl into a ball and stay put, and wait for the danger to pass. ❌A hiding hedgehog will NOT hiss, or make any sound at all! They are a prey animal, you are a predator - they will NOT alert a predator to their presence, they will stay silent. ❌Lighting the bonfire from one side will NOT WORK. Their response to danger is to STAY PUT AND CURL INTO A PROTECTIVE BALL. They won't come running out. As the heat comes closer and the smoke fills her lungs, a hiding hedgehog will just curl tighter. Whoever wrote these 'tips' does not understand the nature of a hedgehog. THEY DO NOT RUN FROM DANGER. Broadcasting this total nonsense is spreading a false sense of security and is potentially extremely harmful. The only safe bonfire is one that is built or moved ON THE DAY IT IS LIT. Moving a bonfire takes less time than you'd think. There are lots of late-born baby hedgehogs around right now, who would see a bonfire as a safe place to nest. Regrets won't turn back the clock. The 'If only' will haunt you for a lifetime. If you have to have a bonfire, please make sure you do it right.

This death trap material should be banned from sale. Our festivities should not cause terrible harm to wildlife.
The real horror of Halloween. Artificial cobweb: a bit of fake fun for you, but a very real and terrifying death for them. If you see your neighbours using it, it's possible they don't know the danger so please print out this simple leaflet and pop it through their door: tinyurl.com/HalloweenHedgeho… The fine, strong synthetic fibres of this lethal 'web' are difficult for animals to see at dusk and can quickly wrap around their legs, wings, and neck, trapping and killing birds, insects and mammals. When Eden the hedgehog struggled to free herself the web tightened, cutting off circulation and causing deep wounds. Can you imagine the pain and sheer terror? And then seeing dawn approach, while hanging there, tightly bound and helpless, only an inch above the ground but suffering slow strangulation. Aside from being stressed, dehydrated, starving and exhausted, she also had horrific bite/peck wounds to her face, where she had been held there, helpless, unable to curl and defend herself, while a predator tried to eat her alive. Tragically her constriction injuries were too severe to survive, and poor Eden had to be put to sleep. If you have used this deadly cruel trap to 'decorate' your garden, I beg you - take it down now. Please spread this vital information, and help save lives.

Hi @andreajenkyns, why did you delete the video of yourself with Paolo Zampoli talking about how you had just had lunch together? Is it because you realised the House Judiciary Committee investigation stated he was “an active participant” in Jeffery Epstein's alleged sex trafficking? Or was it that the FBI said he arranged a model’s visa before she was recruited to give a massage at Epstein’s house, where Epstein allegedly raped her? Or is it the civil lawsuit he’s facing over the alleged drugging and raping of Victoria Drake? And you think he’s “amazing”. That’s a lot of promises you’re making there, Mayor.

Yesterday was shameful. At 5am East Lothian Uncaged witnessed the arrival of 2 vans delivering macaque monkeys from @manairport then at 3pm the arrival of a van full of beagles from MBR Acres. Charles River, Tranent 🏴󠁧󠁢󠁳󠁣󠁴󠁿 and the one way gates to hell. #EndAnimalTesting Sound on.

Spire Nottingham Hospital has confirmed that it has withdrawn its sponsorship of the Quorn Hunt's Ingarsby Chase following serious allegations arising from drone footage filmed by @NhantsHuntsabs. In an email sent today, 20 October, the hospital stated: "𝗜𝗻 𝗹𝗶𝗴𝗵𝘁 𝗼𝗳 𝘁𝗵𝗲𝘀𝗲 𝘀𝗲𝗿𝗶𝗼𝘂𝘀 𝗮𝗹𝗹𝗲𝗴𝗮𝘁𝗶𝗼𝗻𝘀 𝗮𝗴𝗮𝗶𝗻𝘀𝘁 𝗧𝗵𝗲 𝗤𝘂𝗼𝗿𝗻 𝗛𝘂𝗻𝘁, 𝗦𝗽𝗶𝗿𝗲 𝗡𝗼𝘁𝘁𝗶𝗻𝗴𝗵𝗮𝗺 𝗛𝗼𝘀𝗽𝗶𝘁𝗮𝗹 𝗵𝗮𝘀 𝘄𝗶𝘁𝗵𝗱𝗿𝗮𝘄𝗻 𝗶𝘁𝘀 𝘀𝗽𝗼𝗻𝘀𝗼𝗿𝘀𝗵𝗶𝗽 𝗼𝗳 𝘁𝗵𝗲 𝗜𝗻𝗴𝗮𝗿𝘀𝗯𝘆 𝗖𝗵𝗮𝘀𝗲." This follows our exposé this morning showing Quorn Hunt staff repeatedly encouraging hounds to seize and tear at a fox, before pushing the body underneath hay bales after one of the terriermen spotted the drone. Whilst the withdrawal is welcome, 𝘄𝗵𝘆 𝗼𝗻 𝗘𝗮𝗿𝘁𝗵 𝘄𝗮𝘀 𝗮 𝗵𝗲𝗮𝗹𝘁𝗵𝗰𝗮𝗿𝗲 𝗽𝗿𝗼𝘃𝗶𝗱𝗲𝗿 𝘀𝗽𝗼𝗻𝘀𝗼𝗿𝗶𝗻𝗴 𝗮𝗻 𝗲𝘃𝗲𝗻𝘁 𝗼𝗿𝗴𝗮𝗻𝗶𝘀𝗲𝗱 𝗯𝘆 𝘁𝗵𝗲 𝗤𝘂𝗼𝗿𝗻 𝗛𝘂𝗻𝘁 𝗶𝗻 𝘁𝗵𝗲 𝗳𝗶𝗿𝘀𝘁 𝗽𝗹𝗮𝗰𝗲? The Quorn Hunt's history includes a 2022 conviction for illegal hunting involving one of its huntsmen. That information was already in the public domain and could have found out with a quick Google search. Watch the full exposé and read this morning's article here 👉huntsabs.org.uk/smokescreen-…

This is a big deal - The first time England has had a severe drought in modern history - 100 years. It’s another aspect of the failure of water privatisation - private companies, mostly foreign owned and based, are not capable of providing the water service (and sewage) that we need, that’s abundantly clear. We need a change of approach. Thatcher was wrong, the private sector does not do it best in all cases - defo not in a monopoly on a vital national service. Time to take back control of our water. Not ownership necessarily (unless they fail) - just control. buff.ly/HuTO0aq

On 19 July 2024, I published two posts on my X account in which I made allegations about Mr Mothin Ali being involved in the Harehills riots. I have accepted these were incorrect and I have jointly made a statement in open Court in order to apologise to Mr Ali and correct the record which is below. archive.org/details/JSIOC-MA…

Vince was so itchy he had made himself bleed from biting at himself. As you can see, with treatment he's now flea free and his coat is starting to look really good. He is unchipped, so no age on him but I would say 5+ but not old. Vince doesn't seem to have any dog issues from what we have seen. Vince is very vocal in kennels, to the point where he is making himself cough. We thought initially he had KC so he's been isolated for 3 weeks on treatment, no other dogs have come down with it so we think he is giving himself a sore throat from barking and it isn't KC. He needs to be taught some manners and that if he's quiet he will get a reward (he's food and treat orientated), and if he shouts he gets nothing. He was picking this up pretty quickly with me this morning, so he seems quite smart and trainable. Clean in his kennel and loves his food x In UK dog pound but transport can be arranged. Please note: THIS POUND WILL NOT RELEASE DOGS TO THE PUBLIC - A RESCUE HAS TO GIVE RBU Also please reach out to your local rescues to see if they can help. Taxpayers have funded two new helicopters for the Royal Family, whereas mountain rescue for their helicopters have to raise money through charitable efforts. Now, is that right, in the 21st century? - Lord George Foulkes. .... NOW, BRITISH TAXPAYERS IS THAT RIGHT, IN THE 21st CENTURY? You would expect that a smaller royal family would result in less money from taxpayers, but that is not the case; the royal family is receiving more money than ever from taxpayers. When the royal family was larger, it was cheaper. Fact. (King Charles, Camilla, Prince William, Kate Middleton)
