The music for the Pearl and Dean cinema adverts is called Asteroid. It was written in 1968 by Pete Moore. I now want a choc ice and a bag of Revels...

What an incredible rabbit hole. Margaret Hamilton, awarded the Presidential Medal of Freedom for "[leading] the team that created the on-board flight software" for the Apollo missions, wasn't even hired until after the completed software had already flown to the moon in Apollo 8!

authors.library.caltech.edu/… Here is where she says Dan Lickly put her in charge, in other sources you can learn that this happened after Apollo 8 (Dec 1968), and that she married him before Apollo 11

My Catholic Priest publicly announced at every mass he was denying me Holy Communion following the assisted dying vote. Children who are friends of my children were there. This followed a direct threat in writing to do this four days before the vote. 1/3 observer.co.uk/news/national…

Brightest gem of a post I've seen all week at least if you have read the Silver chair

It’s hard to describe just how much the western metropolitan liberal population live in an entirely rhetorical world. Everything they believe is derived from words and consensus that builds around them. It is a completely different form of reality, and why they see outgroup words and communications as such a threat.
Be clear. Reform now has the resource to buy every billboard in the UK, blanket wall to wall advertising across written and broadcast media and saturation leafleting. The British will be blitzed into voting for the ultra right - against every best instinct. It is a dark moment.

This is just coming in: there appears to be a major fire on the upper floors of one of the towers of the World Trade Center in New York City. Reports claim that a small plane, either a Cessna or a private jet, accidentally flew into the tower around the 80th floor, due to either an air traffic control communications error or a malfunction on the aircraft. The dozens of victims are in our thoughts. We will continue to monitor rescue and repair surrounding this alarming accident.
