Today in 1975, chaos broke out at Mallory Park in Leicestershire when 50,000 fans gathered to watch The Bay City Rollers.
The band were flown in by helicopter and forced to land on an island in the middle of a lake.

Remembering #BayCityRollers’ legend @LesMcKeownUK who we lost five years ago today. Much missed by many and a man who always made me laugh. To mark his anniversary, here’s a rare rehearsal clip of Les and @alanlongmuirbcr from @IRanWithTheGang.

Hard to believe it was 6 years ago. I remember Les was so looking forward to the planned BCR musical.
Sadly it never materialised but still think someone out there could still do it. Think @Feargal_Sharkey could play the lead role.

#tbt The other side of Scott - Music! 90s Japan tour with Bay City Rollers, my dear friend lead singer Les McKeown (RIP) to my right. The gentleman with long hair and black jacket joining us backstage was my pal Joe Yamanaka (RIP), many know him for his music but Joe was also a true REAL fighter, film actor and humanitarian 💜 #scottbolan #JoeYamanaka #LeslieMcKeown #baycityrollers

Happy National Best Friends Day with Alan Langmuir and Les McKeown.
Miss those two guys as they had a fabulous friendship with each other since the band's popularity in the mid 70's. #BayCityRollers #NationalBestFriendsDay
