Here is the jerk who spray-painted the 9/11 Memorial. On Monday, October 26, 2026, 31-year-old Jonathan Andrew Tijerina spray-painted red across the engraved names on the North Tower reflecting poolโ€™s bronze panels. He filmed it, posted the video, and was arrested shortly afterward for criminal mischief and making graffiti. Damage was estimated at over $2,500; the paint was quickly removed with no permanent damage. He has yet to be sentenced, but I hope he gets the maximum allowed. ๐Ÿ˜ก

Arguing that vacation cities are โ€œbad sports towns" makes zero sense to me. Places like Tampa Bay, Las Vegas, and Miami will almost always have heavy away fan presence because people build entire vacations around seeing their team play there. Combine that with transplants having endless weekend options, and the dynamic is completely different than other colder, smaller markets. Itโ€™s not a knock, just reality.

I am deeply saddened to learn of Walter Koenigโ€™s passing. Although we did not know each other well away from the set, we shared the later seasons of the original Star Trek series and the six films that followed. What I observed, and what so many fans have expressed over the years, was a man who genuinely loved the Star Trek community. At conventions, Walter was rarely content to remain behind a signing table. He preferred to be among the people who had kept Star Trek alive for so many decades. That kind of genuine connection is rare, and it will be remembered by everyone who came into contact with him. My condolences to his family, his friends, and the countless fans whose lives he touched.

National folks donโ€™t get it. They donโ€™t want to get it and they never will get it. This is the stuff that poisons mindsets. Thereโ€™s no reason to hate the fans of Tampa Bay OTHER than their habits of not giving up allegiances to where they moved from to get there. This is a decade after decade problem with the only solution is for the product on the field of play to be successful. Thereโ€™s always going to be a percentage that comes to support the other side. Having said that, the teams could be marketed a little better. Iโ€™m not making an excuse. I wish the area could be defended more but this #WorldSeries has totally brought out the worst in national vultures. Itโ€™s bothered me for a very long time and it may not ever be fixable @JWMediaDC @DouglasBattista @DanielCane1970 @A_Katzman83
Everybody hates us apparently. National media. Opposing fans. Even some of our own (alleged) fans. Consider that Tampa Bay has a pro hockey team with 3 Stanley Cup championships, whereas Milwaukee, WI (!) doesnโ€™t even have a team. New York and Boston spend hundreds of millions of dollars on payroll but struggle against Tampa Bayโ€™s shoestring budget. Are they jealous? Maybe. Who knows. All I know is Tampa Bay is awesome. We live where everybody else vacations. And we get to do it while competing at the highest levels of pro sports in the U.S. I hereby apologize for NOTHING. You disloyal transplants can go suck an egg. Iโ€™ll always be proud of my hometown, win or lose, no matter what you think about how we do things. #TEAMTAMPABAY FOREVER, Yโ€™ALL! TAMPA BAY AGAINST THE WORLD! #RaysUp #ForTampaBay #WeAreTheKrewe ##GoBolts #GoBulls๐Ÿค˜๐Ÿผ #GoRowdies #GoSun #GoSpartans

Genuine answer. The Brewers have been around for over a half a century with a rich history. Think Robin Yount and Paul Molitor. Like the Rays, they have never won a WS. Tampa Bay is a top vacation destination area. So much to do. People come here all the time to go to our beaches, golf, catch a local sporting event to root for their home town team. More importantly, based on census data, there are about 50,000 to 60,000 people from Wisconsin that have transplanted here. Imagine growing up a Brewers fan and having the opportunity to see your hometown team win a WS. What do you do? You do everything in your power to snag tickets. Have a yard sale. Whatever. You are going to the game(s). And for the record, it was about a 70/30 Rays - Brewers split last night. About what you would expect. Expecting even more Brewers fans in the Trop tonight.
Genuine question. How do Rays fans let this happen in a World Series game that is essentially a must win? Whatโ€™s the reasoning of the fan base not showing up? I genuinely want to know.

Report from Fergโ€™s that will make Brewers fans laugh: The owner tells me that yesterday, they went through 1,000 cases of Miller and Coors Light, which is a MONTHโ€™S worth of beer!! A month of beer in one day. If you were wondering if they like beer in Wisconsin, they do! ๐Ÿ˜…

I appreciate the rational answer. It costs over 100k to thrive in Tampa Bay. Little generational money among natives - mostly in transplants who arent local fans. Low paying service industry is huge.

We are a manufacturing hub. Many people including myself work in a manufacturing. I work in quality and food safety and make 85k. My plant is m-f 5a -7p but many work 4 on 4 off 6a 6-p in a 24hr facility. My wife works from home for aura health the largest health care provider in Wisconsin. There is a ton of wealth here that was passed down from generations as well as a pretty good job market. Cost of living is not as bad as some places cause itโ€™s the Midwest. Also It was cheaper to travel than the tickets here. So yes a lot of brewers fans had money to travel.
It must be nice to be able to spend a few grand and take a few days off of work and fly across the country for baseball games. Or pay thousands for home game tickets. Milwaukee must have an amazing job market. Are there industries i've never heard of? Thats just wild to me.

๐Ÿ”ฅ๐Ÿ‡บ๐Ÿ‡ธ WOWโ€ฆ Milwaukee Brewers fans have INVADED St. Pete for the World Series vs The Tampa Bay Rays. This is at the World Famous Fergโ€™s Sports Bar & Grill across the street from The Trop. I spoke to a bunch of them who said they flew down to stay for ALL 3 GAMES because it was so cheaper compared to the outrageous prices in Milwaukee. It makes sense.. @Brewers never won & flights they said were cheap. @RaysBaseball @MLB

Cy Young appeared on the CBS game show "I've Got a Secret" in 1955, only months before his death. There is something surreal about seeing the man whose name became baseball's pitching award sitting on a television game-show set. Young was already a figure from an earlier baseball world by then. Television suddenly put that world in front of a modern audience.

Sorry, but Tampa doesnโ€™t deserve an MLB team if a WS home game sounds like a road game. Shame for the Rays organization. Nobody does more with less.

Shove it Dave. Iโ€™ll take Palm Harbor, Dunedin, Clearwater, and Tarpon Springs over Swampscott, Lynnfield, Saugus, or Revere any day of the week. As a man of both areas youโ€™re sorely mistaken about Tampa Bay.
Tampa can stop pretending to care about baseball now. This series was dead and buried after the Rays blew 4-0 lead in game 2

#WinOurWay #ThisIsMyCrew is a buzzsaw. When opportunity and work meet fortune, it can be a steamroller. Thereโ€™s nothing to be ashamed of at all fellow Raysโ€™ fans. There are times when thereโ€™s someone thatโ€™s just better. It stinks. Itโ€™s hard. But considering the expectations of the season and what #RaysUp has accomplished. A new ballpark has been secured. Things in life are relative. The process that #ForTampaBay has will eventually win a #WorldSeries winner in Tampa Bay. Being greedy is a fanโ€™s inherent natural reaction but for the Raysโ€™ case so much has been accomplished regardless of what happens the rest of the way.

Itโ€™s a REGION! Itโ€™s multiple counties and jurisdictions with Tampa as the core center but the city isnโ€™t enough to be standalone as far as a center. @stoolpresidente I know youโ€™re a Swampscott guy and my dad is a Lynn guy but try Dunedin or Clearwater or Palm Harbor out. As someone who is loyal to BOTH areas, the arrogance amazes me. Its transients with booming growth to the north and east. Itโ€™s GREAT living. Iโ€™ll put up Tarpon Springs, Oldsmar, New Port Richey, Largo next to Lynnfield, Beverly, Wakefield, Marblehead, or Stoneham any day of the week. Itโ€™s funny what you see of America once you break out of stereotypes. #RaysUp #ForTampaBay #Boston #NewEngland #TampaBay #DirtyWater
