Not many children came to my school in nappies but lots couldn’t wipe properly or simply called for an adult.
All this chat about children in nappies and ‘teachers’ having to change them, that will the TAs then!
My headteacher sometimes (quite often)isn’t in school and nobody says where he is. We had 8 staff off last week in a small school and he still wasn’t in. Feels a bit odd?
Are there any laws that mean the school should should provide fans? 30 degrees in my room today. Awful!
The young teachers at work are off sick a lot- feeling stressed, “need a mental health day”, can’t decide if it’s great self care or fucking shit as I have to cover them all the time!!!

This is the third year I have done this activity and it never fails to bring sparkle and joy to the children and increase their engagement with the book once made.

Teachers got their pay rise of 5.5 today. As they should. I’ve had a pay freeze for 8 years. I am happy for me. But not happy for TAs in school. When I daily see the lengths they go to, I rage for them. They deserve a HUGE pay rise. Particularly those who 1:1 children.

I cover a class with a new child who speaks zero English. Year 5. He spent the whole lesson with his head on the desk - any ideas how I can help him for that one hour I cover ?
