When hugs turn to handshakes.
Realizing that your value to some people is tied to what you can do for them, or how willing you are to follow the script, can be a difficult lesson to learn.
As tough as it is, it's also a necessary one.
Prioritize yourself and your family first. Be yourself in every situation, not just the convenient ones. Stay consistent. Operate with integrity. Treat people well, regardless of what they can offer you.
The right people won't be attracted to your usefulness.
They'll be attracted to your character.
And those are the relationships worth keeping.

I am so excited to announce that I will be continuing my athletic and academic career at the University of Michigan! I want to thank Coach @btholl , Coach @CoachBrundage , and Coach @chiddy3 for the opportunity to play at the highest level. I also want to thank Coach @CoachJoshHays , and Coach @coach_k19 for believing in me, along with Krista Swip and the @ogxsoftball staff for betting on me and their endless support. A big thank you to Dr Eric Puttler and Harry Fischer for helping me get back onto the field after my injury. Dear travel softball, I can’t describe the opportunities given, challenges faced and memories made. I would not be where I am today without you. Thank you for the last 11 years. And to Elite, I couldn’t of asked for a better group of girls and coaches out on the field. #23 out❤️
