Another summer of #outdooreducation in the books. Even the “adult” kids enjoy this week at @frostvalley where they #disconnecttoreconnect. Farewell to another summer of hiking, swimming, & making lifelong memories.
After a rough winter of serious medical challenges we are looking forward to T-58 days until our next outdoor adventure. This time we go #international. Planning at LEAST 3 outdoor adventures with our kids 20, 19, 18, 17, & 11yo. #outdoored #disconnecttoreconnect #nocellservice

Day 3-Hike & swimming in Devil’s Hole, canoeing, cooking class & Monopoly #outdooreducation
Day 2-Pottery, woodworking, painting in the 🌧, & a twilight hayride. Today my 11yo said (unprompted), “I love @frostvalley because we get to do things we wouldn’t normally get to do”…EXACTLY!!
Day 1 — negative Covid tests to arrive, candle making, checking the activity schedule & opening campfire s’mores
Since 1983 my family has attended Family Camp @FrostValley the last week of August. So proud to continue this tradition for 40 years with my own family. My teens LOVE to spend this week with NO CELL SERVICE, and disconnected from the outside world so we can reconnect as a family.
My 17 yo daughter is a “section leader” in her HS’s Women’s Choir this year. She must ensure that the women in her section know their parts to 2 songs by the 1st day of school. She had her 1st rehearsal today. Me: How’d it go?
Nat: “Mooom, teaching is HARD!” 🤷🏼♀️
I just finished binge watching #SnowflakeMountain on @netflix. THIS is why my kids have camped & hiked & climbed & fished & swam & kayaked. You can’t teach resilience without making them work hard. You can’t teach them perseverance without facing failure. #outdooreducation
Day 10….A looooong drive home, sniffles, sore throats & positive Covid tests for 6 of the 19. Next up, a not-so-EPIC 10+ days of isolation. Today is Day 23. 🎶Back to life. Back to reality. 🎶 ✌🏻
