Talkies 1.2 is out 🍿 The biggest update since 1.0, and almost all of it came from your replies.
🖼️ Your own wallpaper: send a photo from your phone (scan a QR code) or pick one from the TV or a USB drive
🕘 Recent apps, from Control Center or any remote button
📌 Your dock, your way: 5 to 10 apps, a Dock apps list, and an All apps button
🎛️ Control Center shortcuts: choose which settings screen each row opens
🔊 Holding Volume works again, plus navigation sounds
🛠️ Fixes for Netflix’s exit, the Google TV Streamer, the screensaver and Sony’s speaker settings
Still about 200 KB. Free, open source, no ads, no tracking.
Talkies 1.0 is here, and it’s officially out of beta 🚀
The biggest change: you no longer have to build it yourself. There’s a ready-made APK, and Talkies will update itself from now on. When a new version is out, a bell appears on your home screen; one click installs it.
A lot of you were asking for an APK, so here it is. Thanks for your patience!
Also new since 0.4:
• Send your TMDB and cricket keys from your phone with a QR code, instead of typing them with the remote
• RAM and storage meters on the home screen
• Back up and restore your settings
• A built-in setup checklist, so nothing gets missed
• Menus loop around: press Up on the first row to jump to the last
