So hey. The artist literally calls the guy on the right transgender but still calls it yuri, uses the Venus symbol (female symbol) to describe him. I was fucking right.

i wonder why trans women are politically engaged enough to run for state legislature . almost as if there’s some sort of motivation other queers don’t share that motivates us to beat the odds as the most hated
pretty curious that everytime a trans person gains a position of power, is a trans woman and never a trans man, wonder why

Guys. Getting mad that bookstores are displaying romantasy is stupid. They are businesses. These books are driving sales! Bookstores were nearly wiped out at one point!

Boys not seeing women as human beings to relate to in literature is a failure of adult men to teach their sons that women are human. It is MISOGYNY.

Yes, in reality the number is not 90%.
The publishing industry is currently run by women who are obsessed with "representation." Go check mswishlist.com and tell me how many editors/agents are fishing for "marginalized communities," "found family," "sapphic romance," "underrepresented voices," etc. Then check how many agents are asking for action/adventure, sci-fi, etc. Almost every editor/agent on the site is female, which, if it was reversed, you'd probably consider innately biased and bad. Hell, there's no shortage of women on Twitter right now claiming that the industry being 90% female is just fine "because it used to be all boys." "Outnumbered them slightly." Get the hell out of here.

Reading is one of the key ways we learn empathy. Boys who won’t read books with girl protagonists grow up to be misogynist men. So whoever is discouraging boys from reading such books needs to KNOCK IT THE FUCK OFF. ‘Cause it ain’t the authors.

i’ve read books with male protagonists all my life. if boys are incapable of reading a book with a female protagonist then i think that’s the real problem that needs to be addressed.

It's interesting how this argument tends to be made: 1. When women were in the minority: "why do you even care if the protagonist looks like you, men don't care" 2. When men are in the minority: "boys are being DiSCouRaGed!", "society hates men!"

boys consider any book with a female lead a girl book. boys in my class called to kill a mockingbird a girl book
One interesting thing about this is that I’ve yet to see anyone correctly identify, just for the sake of argument, a book written for ten and eleven year old girls at all, much less one that is commonly assigned in school.
