Last month, we demonstrated high-rate alchemy: turning mercury into real, stable gold, beating CERN’s record by a factor of 10.
Last week, we enriched isotopes in the world’s most powerful plasma centrifuge, beating the Soviet record that stood for 40 years.
Now, we’re building a fusion reactor in San Francisco to achieve record power density.

We’re announcing two new partnerships to bring innovative energy generation and storage to our data centers:
1/ 🛰️ Space Solar: Partnering with Overview Energy to beam up to 1 GW of space solar power from orbit to Earth for around the clock power production.

When @anton_brevde and I first heard the Overview Energy story in 2022, we invested b/c we knew if anyone could credibly build Space Based Solar Power systems it was Marc. Excited the team is coming out of stealth today w/ flight demos to showcase the incredible engineering!
Today I’m introducing Overview Energy after 3 years in stealth. We’re developing space energy for Earth using wide-beam, near-infrared lasers in GEO. Our satellites will beam energy to large solar projects on Earth, allowing them to generate power at night and turn solar into a reliable 24/7 resource.

We've built a full-scale deployable aerobrake unit showcasing technology that uses planetary atmospheres to slow spacecraft, saving significant mass and cost and enabling heavy cargo delivery from the Moon, to Mars, and point-to-point missions on Earth. Lighter and larger than conventional aeroshells, it deploys in space and stows for launch, making it easily configurable to many different vehicles.

Vast has officially opened its new Long Beach headquarters, a 189,690 sq. ft. campus to support the world’s first commercial space station and the successor to the International Space Station.
@LongBeachMayor and @cwmegankerr joined Vast Founder @JedMcCaleb, CEO @maxhaot, and Lead Astronaut @astro_feustel to officially open the new Mission Control Center.
Our new state-of-the-art facilities are enabling our engineers to continue their progress toward the launch of Haven Demo later this year and Haven-1 in 2026.

Less renders, more hardware. Yesterday, we revealed the final design of Haven-1. Today, we’re sharing our latest progress update as we build the team, facilities, and hardware for the launch of the world’s first commercial space station in the second half of next year. Every step brings us closer to redefining space exploration. Stay tuned for more milestones as we make history.

A large enough solar storm *will* take down the biggest high-voltage transformers, the backbone of the grid; replacing them turns out to be incredibly difficult, likely to take months if done under the best of circumstantces (there is *no* reserve, unaccountably - it's a few billion dollars extremely well spent); almost all our core infrastructure depends on the grid.
