We gave towers the ability to interrupt their idle with a pose when the player hits an attack input
Sort of like Beat from UNBEATABLE, the lockstep guys, or (Strike a Taunt,) Peppino! #gamedev

Devs be like “we made a game we always wanted to play” and it’s something i wouldn’t have thought up even in my wildest dreams
Changing the rates (rhythms) at which our towers fired meant changing how projectiles moved and that meant weird offbeat collisions (ew)
I coded a quick solution for syncing hurt sounds to the music
Now it feels like part of the songs! 🤖💥🎵
Sometimes you're not the game's main programmer but you lock in and spend a week completely overhauling the game's rhythm & input systems just because you want to make the towers fire in fun-to-hit patterns
