It is with deep sadness and regret that I inform you of the death of our brilliant Fleur, who passed peacefully in the night on 9 May 2024, following 13 months battling cancer. I will read out any well wishes to the rest of the family ❤️ Ngā Mihi, Harry (Fleur’s son)

4BWWB is safely home at Miranda. She stopped off in the Manukau Harbour on her way through. It is still unclear why she turned around mid migration. Follow her on globalflywaynetwork.org/trac…

This cancer target will achieve 100% of not much in terms of improving outcomes for NZers with cancer. Earlier diagnosis, better access to specialists a bigger bottle neck
Our Government has today committed to five key health targets to drive better outcomes for all New Zealanders: 1️⃣ Faster cancer treatment - 90 per cent of patients to receive cancer management within 31 days of the decision to treat. 2️⃣ Improved immunisation for kids - 95 per cent of children to be fully immunised at 24 months of age. 3️⃣ Shorter stays in emergency departments - 95 per cent of patients to be admitted, discharged or transferred from an ED within six hours.  4️⃣ Shorter wait times for first specialist assessment – 95 per cent of patients to wait less than four months for an FSA.   5️⃣ Shorter wait times for treatment – 95 per cent of patients to wait less than four months for elective treatment.

NZ media, in general, is very non-partisan compared to other countries, and yet that is one of the biggest criticisms lobbed at journalists. The irony is, losing highly skilled journalists means the media ecosystem is likely to become more partisan and fringe.

Snapper and crayfish eat kina. Kina eat kelp. Overfishing of snapper and crayfish led to kina explosion and destruction of kelp forests aka 'kina barrens'. Solution is to stop overfishing. But fishing industry rep Shane Jones does not want to hear that. nzherald.co.nz/northern-advo…

Can’t believe it, @efesocollins. Your heart, faith, justice, and integrity were a light. From your maiden speech: “There’s a saying in Samoan, “E le tu fa’amauga se tagata” – no one stands alone, no one succeeds alone – and, for me, no one suffers alone.” newsroom.co.nz/2024/02/21/ef…
