just wanted to big up the amazing team at @NGNgas. Discovered a major gas leak at my house yesterday - could have been a disaster, but the people on the case were amazing. They put me and @tegan_elisha at our ease, talking us through all that was happening. Thank you
It's been a fab day! Had the privilege of hearing from our incredible Summer Interns, reporting back on what they've done over the last few weeks. So, so impressive, loads of great student-led suggestions for us to work on.
I found out that @WardleworthNina & I were successful in our #footstepsfund bid. We'll be creating a research internship scheme for level 2 UGs, for students from disadvantaged backgrounds. We hope this will help address the "leaky pipeline" into PG study. Exciting times ahead!

Bridget Phillipson attended a state school, was on free school meals, benefited from extracurricular music and drama lessons and read History and Modern Languages at university. Hope this means good things for education in general and the arts and humanities in particular.
Bloody love Dua Lipa. All the stuff I've heard is amazing. I've loved Be the One but didn't have a clue who sung it, as heard it covered. Only found out it was a Dua song last week! She's doing a brilliant job at #Glastonbury2024
She's Unforgettabke sounds like two Stephen Gatleys #Eurovision2024
Just guessed why they are called Baby Lasagne. Sure I'm extremely late to this! #Eurovision2024 #Eurovision
Does Sunderland go crazy fast for local elections too? Do they still have a rivalry with the peeps at Newcastle? Earlier on had a thought how it would make an awesome Victoria Wood type comedy drama.

We are appalled that the Government is once again singling out arts & creative subjects for funding cuts in Higher Education.
Many courses have already closed and a growing number are at risk.
This attack on the arts must stop now.

Creative Industries make up 6% of our economy. That’s more than car and oil industries together. They employ 2.3million people. To cut funding for creative arts at university level is fudge-brained, cack-hearted thinking pitched very much at the highest level of economic self-harm. theguardian.com/education/20…
27 years at @UniversityLeeds today, yes TWENTY SEVEN. It was all in black and white when I started!
gosh isn't this Bruce Hornsby #bbcpianoroom just glorious? He's going to be playing one of my fave songs soon (End of the Innocence) and I'm going to be in bits. #bbcradio2 ps don't think he's a relation :(
I want Lisa Thorley to be my new best friend, but she's just so cool! #SEC2024
Fab, fun presentation, love her approach
argh, haven't managed to tweet about how amazing #SEC2024 has been. I particularly loved the incredible student panel. It's no surprise to me that UG research opportunities are absolutely transformative. We need more research opportunities inside and outside of the curricula!

Our collective piss could boil any harder that Kev and Rob aren’t Sirs, while Andrea Fuckn Jenkyns is a Dame.

Look at these #yayswap beauties from @DrLauraLong! Gorgeously decorated mid century building and a sugar skull. Haven't got the tree up yet, so expect another photo then.
