Yeah, Robert Gundry makes this same argument. It's a good argument. My response is that it assumes "rest" or "relief" is the cessation of suffering, but I would suggest it refers to vindication/vengeance.

I’m sure this is in the context of Reformed theology, but notably the Dispensationalist answers this by leaving that spectrum altogether. As Darby asked: is the law dead, or am I?
