🚨🗣️ Liam Delap on his SIU celebration after scoring against Manchester City: “I can tell you that these past few months have been difficult. I’ve been struggling with the pressure of proving myself, but even when things aren’t going my way, I keep showing up and giving everything I have. 🗣️ “I have a friend who knows just how much I adore Cristiano Ronaldo. He once asked me, ‘If Ronaldo were in your position right now, do you think he would allow a difficult period to make him doubt himself?’ Laughs. “I heard that and really thought about it. Ronaldo is my idol, and I look up to him in so many ways. He’s someone who never gives up, no matter what people say or how difficult things get. He keeps believing in himself and reminding everyone of what he can do. I knew I had to adopt that same mentality, keep my head up and continue pushing.” 🗣️ “I’m really happy with the brace and the victory. It means everything to me because there were moments when I had so much to say, but I couldn’t find the words. Today, I let my performance do the talking. That celebration was a little reminder of the person who inspired me to keep going.”
