Some animals just don't get the respect, I tell ya The north Pacific spiny dogfish doesn't even get the cool title "shark"! They have venomous spines and can live over 100 years! Who's with me to start a campaign to properly name this amazing shark? #spinydogfisharesharks!

Sweet! Seagrasses release large amounts of sugar into their soils -- worldwide more than 1 million tons of sucrose, enough for 32 billion cans of coke. From the journal Nature Ecology & Evolution: scimex.org/newsfeed/seagrass… #seagrass #sugar #sosweet #climatechange #bluecarbon

🐻‍❄️ #DYK that from the edge of the sea ice, #PolarBears can hunt beluga whales, which are more than two times their weight!? 🤯 🐻‍❄️ Polar bears are amazing #Arctic predators! Female and young bears tend to hunt smaller prey, whereas male bears can take on bigger prey.
