It is common for perpetrators to deny their crimes until they are brought before a court and confronted with strong evidence compelling them to confess.

IThe European Rohingya Council (ERC) strongly condemns the horrific attack in Kyauk Ni Maw of Arakan Sate, Myanmar, where more than 500 Rohingya homes were destroyed, and over 40 innocent lives were lost in brutal bombings. This atrocity is part of an intensified extermination campaign against the Rohingya, carried out by Burmese military and Arakan Army (AA). ERC calls upon the international community and the neighboring countries to take immediate action to protect Rohingya people and prevent further genocide. #SaveRohingya #HumanRights #StopTheGenocide #European #Rohingya #Council

Nay San Lwin, co-founder of the Free Rohingya Coalition advocacy group, also spoke to Rohingya locals in Maungdaw who are living in fear. "With the Myanmar military base located outside the town and a warning from the Arakan Army just before an important religious festival on Tuesday, they feel specifically targeted," he told the ABC. abc.net.au/news/2024-06-17/f…

While the Rohingya people in Maungdaw Township of Rakhine State are about to celebrate Eid Al-Adha on June 18, the Arakan Army (AA) has just issued a warning to leave their homes immediately, forcing them to leave without any arrangements. Where will they go? On May 6, 2024, the Rohingya from two villages, Paung Zar and La Baw Zar in Maungdaw Township, were forced to flee. Since then, there has been no fighting, and no one is allowed to return to their villages. Almost 200,000 Rohingya from Buthidaung were forced to leave their homes, and the AA set fire to their houses just a month ago, on May 17. If you know the details of what has been happening since the last week of March this year, you will conclude that the Arakan Army (AA) is forcefully displacing the Rohingya everywhere under the pretext of fighting against the Myanmar military. Besides forced relocation and arson attacks, there have been significant massacres; at least 1,200 to 1,500 Rohingya have been killed by the AA since the last week of March this year.
